Here I am on the internet defending myself over a chair! 😅 For those worried about the fabric on the chair, I removed two layers of fabric and washed/disinfected the third layer which was a water-resistant fabric. Thanks for watching!
@kimb79703 жыл бұрын
Well I did wonder about that. Thanks for clarifying. Maybe include that statement in the video if there's a similar next time. Because I honestly was thinking eew wont that nastiness seep through in time.
@MonaGP3 жыл бұрын
I thought it wasn’t washed, and when you said $30 I was like what?!?!?
@lauragreen48993 жыл бұрын
Well I wondered the same thing but I was not about to make a comment about it. There's too much negativity out here on the internet. So we need to give each other the benefit of the doubt that even if something doesn't seem right to us we should just keep our mouth shut. You do a wonderful job! All your things are beautiful. Keep up the good work. You are very inspiring. I have been wanting to have a booth and flip furniture and do DIYs but I haven't had the courage to actually put myself out there and do it. But you are giving me so much inspiration. I need to just do it! Thanks so much. You are a blessing.
@ninamc12 жыл бұрын
Be careful with the defending yourself or here or there will be folks trying to get you to do it all the time, I thought nothing about it. Common sense. I know that skill is lacking these days. I’ve just subscribed a couple of days ago but have watched enough videos to know you are not going to leave something nasty on a chair. 😂
@tinyhouse54543 жыл бұрын
I really enjoyed watching. No faves. I like them all.
@judychlupsa17853 жыл бұрын
Its not a matter of defending yourself in regard to your project, its a matter of giving information since you are in a sense teaching!!!
@bethmarcom64633 жыл бұрын
Agree 100% I said at the point she cut out the new fabric, "I can't believe you are not removing that nasty fabric!" Sure could not tell from video that she had removed 2 layers. Also I am new to this channel, and it's the first video I've ever watched on this channel, and the first comment I read is the owner of the channel "defending" herself over the chair. That put a negative feeling in my head about this channel right to start with. 😢

Just found your channel & loved everything you did! I subscribed so I won't miss future videos! I think the risers are my favorite! Can't believe people who were so quick to comment about the fabric on the chair didn't watch close enough to realize it wasn't even the same fabric. Good grief - I can't understand why people have to be so rude. No one who is obviously as experienced as you are would leave something dirty. As for telling us that if there is a next time, I think you described what you did just fine. That would be like you telling viewers that coffee is hot or don't eat the laundry pods! I'm off to watch some of your other videos & get caught up with all your wonderful ideas! Thanks for sharing!

I generally don't watch a lot of these up cycling videos. But I love your style and I've gotten so many ideas from your videos. And... I love how much you get done in one day. LOL. I am such a slacker. I think I spend more time FINDING the things than repurposing them. Found your channel yesterday. Gathered all my little hauls that I've been holding onto and put them all in one place. New goal is to set aside a day or two each week to do 5 of these small projects. Thanks for your inspiration.

I'm so happy to hear that I gave you a little boost! I'm back in a rut of buying but not upcycling, surely I'll get busy again soon!

I would have removed the yucky upholstery first but that chair is adorable! That wavy piece that you made into a hook rack looks like the valance from over a kitchen sink...so now I know what to do with mine when I take it down! Your risers are so cute. Love those bowls. You have a great bunch of upgrades there. Good job.

I actually removed 2 layers of fabric from the chair before getting to the least yucky layer lol. I spray cleaned it really well too. I'm so glad you liked everything, thanks so much for the support!

I like the risers and the wavey shelf/coat rack best. The wavey wood piece was popular in the 50's and many times would be placed between the cabinets above a kitchen window. Great idea for it.

$4!! That's amazing!! In New Zealand Habitat for Humanity is known as the expensive thrift store. A chair like that would be $25NZD ($18USD) which doesn't sound a lot but the NZ market is really messed up!!
@charlotted62473 жыл бұрын
The long shelf with the hooks would be pretty also in a kitchen. Make the top plate wider, cut a groove in it and you could put plates and signs on it. Hang aprons and etc from those beautiful hooks.

That is a great idea! I was envisioning the top shelf as a picture ledge but it would be so pretty as a plate shelf. I wish I had more wall space in my kitchen! Thanks for your comment 😀

Like your projects. Question is farmhouse distressing still in in 2021? I tts been around since 2012, thought it's shabby chic? Not so much white? Or does it depend where you live in America? Your creations are fabulous and glad you reticle idems as well. God bless, have a blessed day. Keep on creating. 👍

Yea we definitely still see a market for distressed primitive style furniture. In fact, I recently shared a distressed green dry sink and it sold within a few days! It might be a regional thing, in my area of Illinois it still seems desirable. I think shabby chic is more feminine than what I typically do in my booth---I shoot more for rustic and less for shabby chic though I think there's a market for both. Great question! Thank you so much for watching!

I have to agree that it is not necessarily having to defend yourself but, you are showing us how you do things, so in fact, teaching. You didn’t show removing the dirty fabric or doing anything about the stain on the bottom of the chair cushion.. I sure hope you painted over that stain. Also, do you clean your pieces before you paint, if so,what do you use?
