We have a trillion and one CVS and Walgreens stores here in America, I'm hitting as many of them as I can and the mom and pop locations, too. And Walmart. Won't know what half the stuff is and don't care, it'll be a good form of currency upon the collapse of civilization (and I'm anemic so I'd appreciate a surplus of iron).

Their anime/manga focused episodes are usually titled so you can avoid them if they're not your cup of tea. They have a few where they have manga artists that come on, but those actually have interesting conversation. Other times they may sprinkle in new shows they've watched and discuss it, but it's never more than a few minutes and it usually has something to do with what they're discussing or segueing into. Their views on Japanese society/nerd culture has been a more defining role in their content and it's great, IMO.

It is not in a constant speed. Other people could simply take it to a different place , throw it away, play with it. The only objective it has is to follow you. It's not with human intelligence. But it's just simply invincible and unpredictable.

It Follows is based off a crappy but popular AskReddit thread from 2011. The prompt is "You are Immortal but the only thing that can kill you is coming into contact with a snail of average human intelligence who is always trying to reach you" This trend was picked up by twitter , reddit multiple other times again, and then TikTok. It's a really boring premise considering the snail doesn't kill anyone else, you literally just need to present yourself to any government, prove your immortality, explain the situation and have the snail shot into space, it's relatively cheap for the trade off to shoot something so small on a course that is constantly traveling away from the solar system. Humanity now has an immortal record keeper.

But what if you get tired of living forever? There's nothing left to do but launch yourself into space in the hopes of catching up with the snail
@MrBaconandlegs2 ай бұрын
@@Subird Sounds like a "You" problem, maybe don't make pacts with Eldritch snails that you aren't prepared for the consequences of. Discover Nirvana or become a being of pure destruction? You've got infinite time, one has to be inevitable. And if space is infinite, you'll never be bored. If all possibilities become true, you'll get the snail back eventually. In the infinite everything is bound to happen at least once, so the snail isn't truly lost forever, you just have to wait out the existence of multiple stars until you get launched in the right direction or just run into the snail by coincidence. Other than that, energy entropy, at some point physics will break apart and your and the snails body will dissolve with the rest of the universe so game over anyway. 38:05 I did some quick math to approximate how long it would take for a snail to travel from London to Tokyo, assuming it did not take transport. The average speed of a garden snail is 0.048km/h (48 metres/hour) Assuming the snail travels in a straight line, the distance from London to Tokyo is 9,578km With this, we can do a simple Time = Distance ÷ Speed Or Time = 9,587 ÷ 0.048km/h = 199,729 hours Knowing there's 24 hours in a day and 365.25 days a year (the extra 0.25 accounting for leap years) we can calculate the time in years with: Time in years = 199,729 ÷ (24 × 365.25), or 199,729 ÷ 8766 = 22.78 years So you would only have to travel between London and Tokyo every 22 years and some months to not get touched by the snail.

If I remember correctly, Midas' blessing turned curse was healed from jumping in a river. Just touch enough stuff to make yourself a comfy life, then take a river dive. And don't insult Apollo afterwards. Or maybe do, I imagine donkeys have better hearing than humans.

I love that Connor was the one who brought up being uncomfortable about the messed up relationship stuff with the swapped bodies. Because there's literally a Welsh story where a prince swaps places with a fairy (?) king, lives the guy's life for a year and does a thing for him. When they go back to their normal lives, the king's wife is surprised he's getting in bed with her, because the prince never took the opportunity to sleep with her. Making the prince a friend for life.

As a small child, I literally had the thought that my life was never going to get better after childhood ended, and I _savored_ my childhood. Those were thousands of ages of bliss. And ever since 9, it has been 10+ years of _absolute misery. _*_If I knew, how many times have I lived this horrid mistake of a life?! AAAAAAAAAAAA-_*

There is an Orson Scott Card series called Homecoming where a satellite is created that is linked to humans that prevents from thinking of specific technologies (deletes thoughts). This was put in place to keep humans from killing themselves at a global scale. It is a very good series

The immortal snail would be so much scarier if it moved at the pace of a human walking
@joshuacrisanto74192 ай бұрын
then it's not a snail anymore. the point of that prompt is it's a snail following you. if you're gonna give the snail attributes that is not from a snail then just give an entirely different entity for the prompt at that point lmao

The conversation about body switching reminds me of the movie It's What's Inside. It's funny hearing how the boys would mess with each other's lives if they switched bodies lol

At 1:04:07 - It is an anomaly though that Garnt is so tall for a Thai guy, like in 99th percentile. This is just a guess but maybe he has Subcontinental/Persian ancestry which would also explain why he also has well-developed stubble for a Thai guy.

Yeah, technically the original amount was $10M in the bit from the Rooster Teeth Podcast, but it did help spin off their “Million Dollars, But” series and card game.
