Trauma Team: "Pass" Rank

I was thinking of posting something for Trauma Team's anniversary in North America, and decided on what might be a bit of a controversial game mechanic. Available only on the Intern difficulty, "Pass" allows you to continue from a point of failure to complete the operation. The post-operation dialogue is the same as you would get if you received a C rank. Trauma Team is the only game in the Trauma Center series that offers this option.
Although not everyone will want to make use of this mechanic, I personally think it's neat that it exists.

Interesting Mechanic. I suppose more options are always better, this would help even the most struggling players experience the story.

I love that this is a thing in Trauma Team. One of the biggest problems with the rest of the series was that it wasn't especially accessible, but this game gave both that and an even harder challenge on the other end of the scale!

I agree. Challenge that blocks progression generally just frustrates me, but selective challenge is great!

Wow! Didn't know about this at all! Though does this work for outside of operations too like during forensics or diagnosis sections?

No - this is only available for ranked operations on Intern difficulty. Forensics and Diagnosis have no rankings or difficulty levels, so game over is really just game over. The closest thing would be restarting from where you last saved, but that doesn’t affect the outcome once you complete the case.

If you're playing on Intern difficulty, you will only see this rank if you are REALLY bad at the game. Granted, I played through the original Trauma Center (which is always Atlus Hard and doesn't have difficulty settings) first, but I actually had to try pretty hard to get a Pass rank in Trauma Team.

I’m playing on Resident difficulty and it isn’t all that hard, especially compared to previous Trauma Center games.
