This made me cry, laugh & was so liberating. Being a 1st generation Dominican American I can relate so very much. My father was in DR for 4 yrs before he came to this country & I had the privilege as a child to go back & forth 3 times a yr just to see him, so this hit home. I recently bought your book & it is part of my daily inner healing journey. Thank you so very much for including your family in this podcast. I truly appreciate it.

I just listened to another video! I dont understand how you dont have alot of views, keep it going ❤. I do the same thing, I have personally gone through trauma like many, but by the grace of God, I was able to get healed through completing both a college and masters degree. Keep going!

I can't wait to read your book!

I asked you on live chat if you thought adoption is trauma, you summed it up as on event. I understand because of the propagandistic nature, it’s viewed as positive. As I listen to you and your family speak about the trauma of sacrifice and separation. It mirrors the experience of my immigrant maternal family. As the adopted child, I had to be sacrificed for their ideology of the American dream. I remained a secret because of shame. Strip away from my family, half of my culture and language. My true identity is Afro Latina/Caribbean and American. I have siblings who don’t know I exist and when they find out. It’s going to shift the “family dynamic”. I just wanted to share this perspective with you and also thank you for sharing your thoughts and wisdom on intergenerational trauma. 🤎
