In this episode, I meet three out of control Chihuahuas ready to wreak havoc! Lola, the worst Chihuahua, has an attachment issue. Penny is very territorial and Rita has major trust issues given her traumatic past. I need to help these dog owners to set their boundaries and institute power and control. Without that, they are living in a house with no structure or discipline and the dogs will never stop their excitement, protectiveness, and anxiousness.

I never cease to be bemused at commenters criticizing dog owners who seek help with their dogs. Treating the owners as idiots is easy enough to do from afar. It’s another thing to recognize that people can admit their shortcomings and reach out for help.

That said, after watching a lot of these…it is hard not to judge when ppl take on animals without bothering to learn anything first. American culture. @mahalie23 Lol Agreed right back! Big or powerful dogs in a small home setting is my biggest pet peeve. Bringing a new dog into a family who already has a dog isn’t always the best idea unless you’re prepared for potential issues between the dogs. I learned that one the hard way. 😅

I totally agree, they are reaching out because they love their dogs and want the best for them and the whole family, really. If everyone constantly keeps picking apart everyone else for not having a perfectly behaved/trained dog, some people won't even get dogs anymore. We certainly don't want,and can't afford forthat to happen . We have way too many in the shelters now.

I have Chihuahua/Pomeranian puppy right now that I got at 9 days old to foster. He is now 17 weeks old. Because I have watched Caesar for years, he is well balanced and hardly barks. He is learning fast! We also have a Border Collie/Husky that has been raised the same way. She has been a great help teaching the little guy how to be calm/submissive!

Cesar never really makes it clear enough that all dogs need, lots of exercise and a safe and controlled outlet for their instincts. You should check out "the dog daddy" on youtube. They cut out a lot in this tv show unfortunately, which can be kind of bad for people's perception.

it is such a blessing that dogs have you I don’t know if you realize what you give not only to dogs but to people to and I’ve always believed since I was a kid even that they are reflection of who we are as human beings what it seems like to me is that they’re a dog in all their glory but also a part of the family In every way I love them as I love my own family and if we pay attention real close becoming we can become as one with our dog or cat they in turn become like little psychologist psychiatrist a Begins to relate to your behavior gets better or our infintismle behavioral changes changes the dogs will too we learn from and for them we help one another and teach one another God bless you Mr. Millan you sure are a blessing to dogs I can’t imagine how many you have helped 🐾🕊 From a family of rescues and founds 30 years we have rescued great Danes it has found many kitties on the street and other dogs to and we have found them homes I have never turned one away we feed one another’s soul 🕊

It tends to be harder for the owner to get the desired behavior, because the dog has rehearsed behavior already. The owners have to get their cues right while also reestablishing their role in the household. Kind of like if a coworker gets promoted vs a new boss being hired in: the coworker has a harder task establishing authority than the new hire.

We had a Chihuahua and every time my sister in law came over, she would make eye contact with him, smile and show teeth, and lean over with her arms out and she wondered why he was so apprehensive towards her. We tried to explain what she was doing wrong, but it was like talking to a wall. She's one of those people who only hear what they want to hear.

Its hard with my little rescue dog, She is scared of everything and me too but wants my love more than anything Shes 2kgs, was a runt and lived outside in the cold for over 2 years with only bigger dogs and no love from people. Either way she getting better and laying in front of the heater sleeping, She will stop and cower down so i can pick her up (instead of hiding under the couch and missing out) then shes comfortable putting her jacket and lead on for walks finally and she LOVES them, still scared but happy

After watching caesar for years, I think if she is still in the state after 2 years, I believe you may be signaling to her or contributing to her continued behavior. I am not saying this to attack you or to chastise you or make you feel guilty. I am saying this so you will realize that you and the dog can both be happier fairly quickly if you can identify and remove the conditioning you're giving her. Cesar has done videos on dogs like this and he is able to get them acting normally within a month most of the time. Dogs are like mirrors. They reflect back what you project outwards.

No offence to you guys. But I have seen quite a few badly behaved Chihuahuas. I've seen a trainer on KZbin stating it is one of those dog breeds which are difficult to handle.

@JCzzzzz it's because of their brain size being the largest in proportion to their bodies compared to all other dog breeds; meaning that they are, usually, highly intelligent. They also take their cues from their owner(s), who all to often don't train them, due to their tiny size, and cuteness.

I didn't see anything wrong with them, yeah a lot of women treat dogs like cuddle toys , but they saw the wrong that it was driving Ivan crazy and they decided to get help and actually followed thru. I might say Ivan tho I can tell is kinda of a push over or lacks confidence as a man. He never took control of the situation or the household and I could tell by the food exercise that he was the one that let it go too far as the dog was more confident in taking his food away, with the girls they got corrected right away and the girl was confident in correcting the dog, the problem was that the girls didn't know how to correct dogs.

@cesarmillan this is like the house I hated walking by twice a day with my Golden Retriever. (In Canada 🇨🇦) They had 3 or 4 of those little sharp barking chihuahuas. In the summer was worse because the left the windows open. The barking was well just as I remember from when I visited patients in their homes. Liam my dog, and I would walk by could be before 7 am in summer time and I guess the little dogs would stay at the door. (I would hate to be the next door neighbour) Liam would just turn his head snd look at them like he was thinking “don’t you guys have anything better do?” …. It was kind of sad because I never saw those little chihuahuas out on walks. There also were other dogs I never saw out on walks and they would bark at us from the windows so maybe they were all saying “let me out. Take me on your walk” 😂

Everytime I see a dog lick on the human’s mouth, it actually makes me sick! I’ve never allowed my dogs to lick me: mouth, face or arm/leg, etc. I also have never allowed them on the furniture. They are loved and cherished and trained. I still love watching Cesar! 😂🎉❤
