When that second little tight snare comes in...it just ruins it for me. Like it's about to be the most banging track ever...and then he tries to get tricky with it and all the power goes out of it. oh well.

I think the off tempo nature of the vocals is what keeps me coming back to this song! every once in a while everything syncs up and it becomes magical

OK the Kickdrums are nice but the vocals are completly offbeat, there is a much better reedit "C-Edits - So in Love with you". btw the original is by Duke also named "So In Love With You" from 1994 , there is a Maxi CD with an Accapelle on it without cheap Traumprinz' effects.

+Vasili Carlson (Tektōn) the original accapelle, has its own rythm wich is not fitting in perfect scale. if the words came a little bit to fast or to slow in relation to the beat it sound strange. So it is in the Traumprinz-version. I don't think it is intended. Sounds more that he doesn't take care.

that's not what dilettantism means, and no, not really. it's just a stylistic choice. why should vocal samples always be snapped to grid and cut and sliced that way? this has a different effect on the music. it's not like intentionally 'bad'. what even is 'bad' and 'good' when it comes to sampling? where's the rulebook?
