The size of your travel altar is really nice. In case you take it on a plane, you could switch the lighter for matches. You probably already thought of that. This was fun to watch!

@@jamesfeeney623 You can get incense matches in varieties of scents and use them to light the candles thus doubling use from them as well as being great for even smaller kits like the altoids altar cases.

Your travel altar is very cool. I'm putting a travel altar together for a road trip, but I don't really do ritualistic magic. Most of my stuff is made up on the fly and working with moving energy, so I think all I really need are my essential crystals, black salt, a bell, a lighter, and chalk/sharpie/paint marker. I use silver too, but I'm always wearing silver jewelry.

Making a travel altar really does distill one's practice down to the important elements! The imagery in the lid is brilliant 👏👏 Love seashells and rose quartz hearts and teeny vials 😍 Would love to hear more about flying ointment!

It was so great to see what you have in your travel altar. I have a few things in a "go box" that I created for reasons I won't get into, but you've inspired me to arrange them in a little black box I have. I think I'd feel better prepared and less haphazard if I did so, so thanks for the idea. May spend today making and embroidering some altar clothes, as I've wanted to get back into embroidery.

How did I miss this video?!? LOL I LOVE seeing people’s Travel Alters! I created one for myself about a year ago... I found this beautiful hardwood box, about the size of a shoebox, that looks like an old school Steam Trunk... so it’s a bit larger than the norm but I love it! I have a small statue of Ceridwen (my Matron) as well as a small iron Cauldron. I also have a set of small taper candles in several colors and three white tea light candles and two small crystal candle holders. I have a small brass bell as well as a small bundle of Sage. For crystals I have small towers of Clear Quartz and Amethyst, a small chunk of Black Tourmaline, and an Egg of Lapis. I really want to learn more about herbs and oils but at this point I just have a bottle of generic Alter Oil. I also have a mini binder to record Spells/Rituals.

That's an amazing Portable altar. I have a small altoid altar but have been looking to update to a slightly bigger size. So I bought a medium sized tin that was one step up. To all those who don't feel like they're art inclined for "altar images" printing a nice pic off the library comp and use box tape as a laminate or just glue it to help. Or you can get a tiny frame from Dollar tree and place it in there. That's what I do,anything you feel like being connected to your gods, spirits ect. It's also a good place to start your own hidey hole(incase you're having to hide) altar or those on a low budget. Get creative,it's about intention NOT price!!! Thank you again for your vid. It was nice!!!

Amazing how much you can pack in that box. I have never travelled with anything than a deck of Tarot. But watching this made me think that what would it be that I might want to use.... and for me it might be sage, candle (even that might be easy to get anywhere if needed) and maybe a clear quartz. I might end up doing a little travel kit this summer 🤔 Something that can travel with me on my bike untill the plane is an option again. Great stuff once again 💚

Right now my travel altar is an altoids tin! It has a tealight candle, a 6" cord for knot workings, incense cones and a tiny incense tray, matches, a flat shell, a couple coins, a piece of sea glass, a small stone with a turtle engraving, a small key, and some beads that I painted to represent the 4 elements. It's not decorated, just a little low key tin. Not even that packed tbh, and I'm still deciding what I want to keep in it permanently. I also carry one of those pocket sketchbooks that I use as a sigil book and on-the-go grimoire. :)

I don't travel, but I love small things and my ritual altar is always kept in a plain black boxe, about the same size as yours. I take out the content only when I do a ritual, to realy create a sens of alternate space and time. I am an ecclectic witch, so, in this boxe I have a small golden pentagram made in embroidery, a small black obsidienne point as a wand to built my magick circle, a representation of the four elements such as a grenat crystal for earth, a feather for air, a tiny cup for water (I wish I had a small sea shell like yours!), and a candle for fire, I also keep in the boxe my miniature grimoire (3 inches × 2 inches), an "eye of Shiva" crystal (as protector of my altar), a small bell, a needle, a small mirror, incense sticks and a miniature incense holder, a small bottle of black salt, some paper, a pen, a miniature Tarot deck and matches. I am an animist, so, I don't worship any gods or goddesses, so there is no image or figurine representing one of then in my boxe. It all fits well on a small table when I do a ritual. Otherwise I have a bigger permanent altar in my living room (on a shelf) for my spiritual allies and servitors. In my purse I have a mini-miniature altar in a pill boxe, only with symbols of the four elements and of my spiritual allies, and on myself I carry a medecine bag.

@@jamesfeeney623 you are welcome! 😀 If your interested in the natural and elemental aspect of witchcraft and in keeping a medecine bag on yourself, the 2020 book "The Medecine Bag" by Don Jose Ruiz is very helpfull, also full of very nice spells and rituals related to the Toltec shamanic legacy (closely related to traditionnal witchcraft in many aspects). I highly recommand this book 😊💖

I'm just beginning to research practicing the craft, and your video really helped me narrow down the things that a travel altar needs! I have a small tin and a tiny vial (for salt) already. I found some incense matches that I may go back and buy to put in there, with a tealight candle, a small selenite crystal along with fluorite and onyx (I find the selenite pure and cleansing, the fluorite calming, and the onyx protective), rosemary (instead of sage, just because it's more accessible for me and i like the smell more), and a few seashells i picked up from the beach :)

I've been considering making one. Too many times I've been out and can't do a quick little thing lol My practice largely focuses on divination and candle magic, so I think mine is mostly gonna be a mini tarot deck, a variety of chime candles, and an incense spray.
