Great video Phil. You had my mouth watering when you were cutting up that roast. I too am thinking about getting one of those ovens.
@PhilsCampingReviews4 жыл бұрын
Most people think you can only heat up pies and sausage rolls in these ovens. Anything you cook in your oven at home can be cooked in one of these.

Phil, you've sold me on the Travel Buddy. It'd be perfect for cooking small meals and cakes while I'm camping. Thanks for your review!

Hi there, great video - i too have a travel buddy and just purchased a bluetooth meat thermometer similar to yours. please can you explain again how you extend the bluetooth range by piggy backing two devices?
@PhilsCampingReviews4 жыл бұрын
It's been a long time since I set this up, Have to recall how I set this up.

@@PhilsCampingReviews I have tried and can not get it to piggyback onto a second device :(

@@chrissythom5296 I own a samsung tablet that I've setup as the main unit. from there I've connected my 2nd unit to read of the main tablet. How I done that is a good question. I set mine up like that over a year ago. I will go over the settings and see if I can figure out what I done.

When you are cooking did you have the battery charger on the Car ? Good to see that you look after Mum.😀
@PhilsCampingReviews4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I had my electric battery charger on in the car charging my Deep cycle battery, mainly to get the voltage up over 13 volts. While your driving, no issues there, In saying this, there is no reason why you can't cook without a charger connected to your deep cycle battery, I just like as much heat as possible so it don't take so long to cook. At camp if I want to cook quick, I have my solar panel connected to keep the voltage up.

Hey mate I notice you put the smw tray straight on the heating element, would you normally do this with every roast in the oven, I assume it would cook way nicer then being on the rack, I got the same tray and have had trouble cooking roast well in it
@PhilsCampingReviews3 жыл бұрын
I place the included grate on the floor of the travel buddy than place the tray on it. You need to keep the voltage up to get good heat for cooking a roast. Good idea to keep your solar panel connected while cooking to keep the voltage up

Yes, that's the large Travel buddy marine oven. I purchased mine locally from the TJM 4x4 Store. I heard there very hard to get now, unless you purchase online direct from the manufacturer in Melbourne. www.12-24voltovens.com.au/

G-Day Phil, MMMMMMMMMMM you really made it so real I can smell it from here. Pity, I have a Toyota Troopy and I am short on space. I used to have an oven that fitted inside the engine bay and it was good for pies but I don't think it would do a roast. Some one come up with an engine oven near the hottest point and you will sell millions.

Good video Phil but you're putting out the wrong info mate, Travel Buddy is made in Bendigo, my home town, not Melbourne! We're in Central Vic, long way from Melbourne, us Bendigonians are very proud of the Travel Buddy story, saying they're made in Melbourne is like saying Drifta is made in Sydney, if ya know what I mean 👍
@4WheelingInNSW4 жыл бұрын
I guess if someone says Drifta is Made in Sydney though, it gives a general idea of where Drifta is nationally .... Either way, the main and best thing is that it’s Aussie made and not Chinese like that other brand that copied them. 👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
