Joshua Tree is kind of a Southern California local's secret, except...not anymooore! This is where locals go for a fun weekend or day in the desert. It's small, accessible (only 2 hours from LA!), GORGEOUS, and really fun. Here's the perfect itinerary if you have one day to explore Joshua Tree National Park! - Nathalie

Awesome vid. One small nit...the double "ll" is not silent. It's Spanish. It's pronounced like a Y in English, like when you would say young or yeast.

Aloha,Epic vid! I use to live in the area of JT during the winters & Hawai`i during the rest of the year. JT definitely has a special energy about it, the vast landscapes & incredible rock formations are a wonder to behold. I loved to hear the eerie coyote calls in the evenings & watching the humming birds doing their crazy flying acrobatics during the day. JT is definitely one of the best places for desert hiking in the western states & also has world class bouldering & rock climbing. Always remember that the desert is a very fragile ecosystem, it takes an unbelievable long time for the plants, animals & environment to bounce back from any type of damage. Also, remember to take plenty water & pack out what you take in (no trash). Respect & cherish Mother Nature & she will offer you some of the most unforgettable experiences & memories in your lifetime. Safe & happy adventuring...

There's like a cool hidden hermit cave you can go to. The rangers won't tell you where it is but if you have a GPS then you can hike right to it very easy.

Nice. Joshua Tree has been on my bucket list for years but never made it (despite being a Californian). Beautiful landscapes. They reminded me a little bit of Hampi, India, though Hampi is even weirder. Anyway good stuff, subscribed.

The Travel Muse Yeah, it's ultra cool. Amazing, surreal landscapes, ancient Hindu ruins, a river you can swim in, a lake nearby, nice little restaurants, cheap rooms, etc. One of the top places to see in India.

U2 released The Joshua Tree in March of '87. Day of release bought the cassette, next day we were in Joshua Tree National Monument as the snow was falling all around us in that high desert. Joshua tree is way better ttan the grand canyon (southern rim) in my opinion. the view of the grand canyon wears off after a few hours there.. then theres no much to do in the village unless you have plans to hike and stuff. but if youre just there for an easy going trip, to camp, hang out, see the views.. Joshua tree is the better overall experience.
