Question regarding the mics, the fact you can talk back stage but also provide the backing vocals for certain parts. Is that automated or does the sound engineer at the deck do it manually? I've worked in theatres so know the lighting is usually automated, but often wondered for the sound. Thanks Great videos by the way. Coming to Cardiff can't wait. Saw Grease when it was released in the cinema (yes I'm that old!) 😀, and many productions since.

almost certainly the engineer at the desk, some shows might have programming to cue certain mics in but the engineer will always have overall control in case someone's unmuted by accident. there's a lot of failsafes in place to prevent being unmuted at the wrong moment built into modern sound desks which help a lot too
