TRAVEL DAY with 2 & 10 year old | Sunshine Flyer | PO Riverside | WALT DISNEY WORLD | Day 1 | Aug 22

It’s our TRAVEL DAY to WALT DISNEY WORLD, for our 3 week trip.
We start at Heathrow Airport and visit the Premium Lounge in Terminal 5 and fly with British Airways to Philadelphia. We then transfer to American Airlines and fly the Orlando MCO. Using the Sunshine Flyer we transfer to the Port Orleans Riverside and give a little room tour before hitting the pillow after a long day.

We thought that regarding security when we stopped over at Atlanta. But didn't have to on way home . Doesn't make any sense at all. And we travelled hand luggage only .

Oh i just love you all, your vlog is so good to watch, soon as i finish writing this I’m going to watch all your vlogs non stop, and your girls are so cute, few years ago we went to hawaii the flight alone was 17 hours they took our cases and we never saw them again till we arrived in Hawaii you never said what hotel you was staying in..

Wow, such a Long Travel Day! That is the one thing that puts us off going indirect, all the palaver of changing planes and getting from one side of the airport to another. Waaayyy too much stress. Love the bus though! Our longest Travel Day Scarlett? That would be returning from Orlando in 2008. Got up about 8am left our accommodation at 10am and pottered around before heading up to Sanford for our return flight home, only to find our flight was delayed, then delayed and delayed some more. In the end it was 12 HOURS! Eventually got back home at 3PM the following day! Bit of a long un. Hope you had a great time and for us it is less than a week to go before we return to Orlando. YAAY! Take care guys

It wasn’t too bad and with the prices this summer, we had no choice. Wasn’t paying £6000 to fly from Manchester. We had no delays, so all went to plan. Wow, 12 hour delay is horrific, half it hasn’t put you off and enjoy next week.

I have a friend who used to be a general manager for American Airlines. The reason why you had to go through more security is just an extra safety precaution put in place by the airline/ Airport. A lot of states in America don't have a efficient security system (staff and crew don't get security checked), so as far as they are aware, you could have been handed something on the flight from UK to Philadephia, and they're just taking them extra mesuares ro keep everyone safe ☺️

Thanks Sophie. All fair points, it just made the whole process really difficult and we are aware of two families that actually missed the connecting flight due to being stuck in customs. So lost days off their holiday. All valid points, but it needs refining and ironically we didn’t have to go through anything similar on our flights home from Orlando - Charlotte - London, which we could have also been handed something on the flight. Just helps if things are consistent.

They had to be rechecked through security because they had access to their checked baggage. For example there could be a knife or other contraband in the baggage.

If you touch your checked baggage to go through customs you have to be rechecked through security.
