No VIDA for 1998 and older but it still has diagrams that are helpful. You are best off with the “850 OBD-II” android app and a Bluetooth ELM327 scanner.

No, if the car has a throttle body cable/wire, it does not use VIDA. Yes, I plan to follow up when the owner gets the parts. Your best bet may be the 850 ii Android app.

no, it has an issue with the ECT. It runs ok but not good.

Hi Robert, I hope all is okay with you. I want to share some information with you, but first I need your professional opinion. My 1998 Volvo S70 is making a motor sound when I apply the brakes, and the brakes won't engage until I apply pressure on the vehicle. Kindly let me know.

Robert, sorry to trouble you...I have a question. On my 1998 V70 the plastic frame that holds the electrical relays somehow broke. Now if I try to push in any of the 3 relays it won't work. They keep sinking. There is nothing holding the relay base in place. I am looking at this and can't tell if the Fuse Box Relay Junction Unit can be removed, or lifted.

I'm sure it can. Unfortunately I have no idea how. I'm trying to get with a Volvo technician to show me how to get it loose from the car.

@@RobertDIY Thanks. I'm still puzzled as to why did it break (crumble) the way it did. Maybe it's due to it's age... 26 years of being parked under the TX sun. Plus the bad location. In the engine compartment. So it gets heat non-stop. It's a shame. Everything else works fine.
