I'll be spending a week or so there after my Netherlands/Germany adventure. I picked London because it's a great place to find cheap flights to other parts of the world!

My husband and I stay in Port El kantoui while visiting Tunisia. We are from southern Germany and I always say we were part of the Roman Empire just as you (cities like Mainz or Trier) were. My husband loves football (soccer🙃) and Coffee, I love cooking, plants and ceramics - always something to talk about. We always book a tour with an official tourist guide, we call the same taxi driver and his son, we drink and eat outside the hotel and sometimes take the louage. If you want to shop in a more european style for good fixed prices, there are official tourist shops. We bought beautyful pieces over the years from very different places like scarfs, handbags, a small fountain and met many nice people. And we got many good infos on the plane from Germany, like what is considered a good tip a the moment. Also we can kind of look like local tourists, if we want to. And you are right just walk away and say that you will not buy something politely.

Great series of videos Willie, you were a true gentleman, showing respect and interest, and bravo for staying strong with the hasslers. I hope you visit again but this time I recommend visiting the south, it's another Tunisia, the desert and palm trees, also the hospitality of southern people is one of their best traits. Cities like Tozeur, Douz and Matmata are so beautiful, just avoid summer and pick a time between December and March.

good tips for people who have a small budget and want to discover the country. tunisia has different facades, the extreme luxury in the 5 star hotels and expensive places for rich tourists and rich locals and the side you showed for normal locals and tourists (explorers) who enjoy their vacation differently.

Hammamet relaxed 😊 simply clean hotels near beach, cafés on beach. Hidden areas, djerba 🎉recommend. I went Tunis a day enough and recommended sid boudi. They very friendly

Sir you are always welcome to visit my homeland Tunisia i do agree with you with the negotiation part , it happens most of the times even with locals ( in touristic shops basically) maybe you found it hard to communicate with locals (old generation) because Tunisia was occupied by french so the french culture is dominating but if you frequent the new generation i am sure it would be easier and you get on very well . i highly recommend you to give it another chance . there is much more to discover with locals especially . tunisians are very kind and next time try to ask for locals to help you discover the city (you will find much acceptances on social media and they won't ask you for money trust we do such things to spread our national love to visitors ) i recommend you to discover the old city in Tunis it's amazing (with local of course) and try street food it's very famous abroad and so yummy even Kairouan the seond Islamic city in the world Djerba the island especially known for the city where muslims and jewich cohabit together and it's very charming also we have such a big Desert i am sorry that you missed such a part also Ghar el mel , HAouaria trust it's another version of maldives Mahdia , Sousse and other places where i guarantee that you'll explore the best beaches you'll ever see finally to make things more clear i recommend you to visit the KZbin channel THE DREAMER WILD AND FREE and i am sure you'll be convinced that Tunisia is always worth visitning kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6Pae61mqtR4iM0

Hello, I didn't realise you're still in Tunisia. When I travelled in January, it was freezing. Please tell me this was taken earlier in 2022 because you're in t shirt. There are 'set price' shops in Hammamet which I buy. I really am happy that you showed this video because the news painted a different picture. I wanted to go again as the sun there is good for my health. People are willing to help but even them don't know some areas. I know this because the places I discovered while walking, my local friends were surprised about the areas. Thanks for the tips. I hope you got to see the secret gardens. (I wonder if it's still there?) As a tourist, I didn't get hassle much because I'm brown. They were calling me Shakira but I look no even close as beautiful as she is. I'm 5 ft and chubby😂. Maybe because my hair was long at that time 😂, I'm going to book for June 2023.

It's been very entertaining Willie, till next time! or shall I say series! Something that might be worth noting is that Bizerta, Tunis, Hammamet are all considered part of one region, the North East. The North West region is quite different as it sits on the Khoumirie mountains extension of the Atlas mountains. Tabarka is the touristic hotspot for relaxation and fancy seaside hotels but for those feeling adventurous, Ain Draham 25km south of Tabarka is the perfect destination during the snow season or spring, people call it "little Switzerland". The region is less known to foreigners due to the airport situation in Tabarka and the incomplete A3 highway. There are also many ancient Carthaginian/Roman/Berber ruins to discover including the famous World Heritage Site of Dougga. That reputation is because some drivers drive like hours and hours to make more money and don't sleep, and sometimes bad accidents happens with louages, also the roads in general are unsafe in Tunisia a lot of drivers don't care about safety rules, neither the government to make roads safer

Regarding exploitation by merchants, not only in tunisia, but all over the world, especially when you're a tourist, and this is through my personal experience in several countries, especially turkey, number one in exploitation by taxi drivers and shops

They need to make a living too, but if you engage with them cordially and firmly, you will set boundaries. Important to treat them with respect though
