In Italy many, if not all products that need oil have, literally blazened across the packet "free from" or "no palm oil"!!! Probably because they saw a significant drop in sales and asked themselves why! I have also stopped buying Nutella and Mcvities digestive biscuits.

But, they won’t remember it except through the videos.

I think I was in Indonesia when I used a blow gun, the kind they use in Borneo, to shoot at a target. I didn’t aim and hit the target close to the center. I aimed the second time and the dart failed to come close. The outlaw Billy the Kid, killed several people. He quickly drew his gun and fired without aiming. He and I must have shared the same visual anomalies.

Wether the boys will actually remember these early trips they certainly are learning to love all of the wildlife around them and surely you are planting the beginning seeds of responsibility for all our planet’s gorgeous creatures and they are sure to carry this love and connectedness with them throughout their lives. Aside from your day to day wonderful parenting, you are supporting their curiosity and I’m quite sure they will continue to seek, look and learn wherever they find themselves.❤❤❤❤😘😘😘😘

What a magical trip 💚 The dichotomy between such rich, lush, incredible landscape & wildlife and the way the land is being ravaged is heartbreaking and difficult to reconcile, but, Tara, I believe that the future for your children and my grandchildren is bright. I truly believe we have reached a tipping point and that they are the generation who will heal the Earth 🌍 They are being raised by incredible parents (I include my daughters 🥰) who are so in tune with their children in a way that’s not been seen since ancient times. Have faith, the future is bright 🩵

Dear Newby Explorers, when I first met you both Tara and John with 3 weeks old Crusoe adventuring in Scotland in your van, thought you were crazy with your little baby boy, and yet you were home in the UK, now after knowing you for over 3 years and seeing many videos on your trips around the world, I say YOU ARE A PREFECT MATCH, John's knowledge in travelling around the world matched to your Safari knowledge around Africa, Tara, evident on the last moment of this video looking at those pigmee elephants, your tears of joy and emotions, I am sure you know Asia's elephants are the biggests. Wonders of wonders never been to Malaysia visiting wildlife but you feel just at home with your boys, enriching their knowledge of our world and especially leaving your legacy to them. All I will say can't wait to watch part 2. BTW Crusoe definitely looks like John and Sawyer your mirror image Tara. Something to do with the new haircuts I am sure. Imagine ALL this beauty created by the finger of the Lord. Wonder of wonders. Greetings from the other side of the world. 🥰🙏💖🌍🌏🌎 🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦

Beautiful! Such a sad yet hopeful situation for wildlife in Borneo and Thailand. Glad you brought up the palm oil problem, Tara, and reminded us all that our choices are important and make such a difference to life elsewhere on the planet; something Sir David Arrenborough has been encouraging us all for years not only to be aware of and think about, but to follow through with responsible, caring action. How special for Crusoe and Sawyer to see all this in person. Their enjoyment and expressions are priceless, Tara, I felt the emotions you were experiencing as you arrived and realized the beginning of the fulfillment of a dream. Hi guys, glad that you are taking the kids to see these things, and that you are videoing the trips as I know that later they may not remember the trips directly. I mention this because my parents took me to America when I was young, perhaps 2 years old, so when people ask me if I have been, I say, 'Yes, but I don't remember it.' I'm not sure how old our long term awareness or memory starts, but for me it was at about 4-5 years old.

Love this window to the world that you give us, including the special privilege of seeing through the children’s eyes. Sawyer‘s intenseness of the moment on the river was gold! My father‘s family grew up in a part of the Malaysian jungle which has since reclaimed their house. One can only hope that the jungle will be allowed to return in Borneo one day. One of my earliest memories was falling in love with the orangutans at Singapore zoo. Their intelligence impressed me even then. You have now inspired me to look into seeing them in their original habitat. ❤

Yes, deforestation. It’s the same in Thailand. I lived a year in Thailand and rode my bike to a river wharf. A huge logging truck showed up and a pilot. A barge came up the river with a huge tree. The pilot guided the barge to the wharf. The tree was quickly unloaded onto the truck and all disappeared. I figured the tree was illegally cut. Your Borneo river trip scenery is thrilling. So beautiful and lush. What I didn’t say is one day my teaching colleagues and I went on a picnic to the King’s forest. There was a tower for the King and Queen to climb over the forest to observe forest animals. But, there was no forest, just some little scraggly trees and a few thin shrubs. That was in mid-Thailand. I went to Cheng Mai and rode an elephant through another “forest.” However, this is almost as bad in the U.S. were money is everything and developers mow down “vacant” land for development. There are too many people in the world living way beyond how we were meant to live.
