You can also bring things for the locals such as ibuprofen, tylenol, tooth paste, shampoo and other higiene products. We go often to Cuba and we bring crayons, play dough for the kids, baby food etc . They really appreciate. You can also do this if you stay in a resort.

Wow, you brought along your own pharmacy! We traveled to Havana in 2013, and didn't bring anything like that collection. But to be fair, we were part of an organized people-to-people tour put together by Insight Cuba (and it was expensive.) Back then, we stayed in a 5-star hotel (the Meliá Cohiba), and it had virtually all of the products that you brought from home. Perhaps now it is different. We never worried about the water or the ice in the hotel or in the restaurants or paladares that we visited. Hope you enjoy your trips to Cuba as much as we did.

Even though this was made a while ago, I'm glad you are answering back more recent comments on here. As far as I understand it, there is a growing and thriving market of goods. So you must know some people that send products to cuba to sell? I don't know if they need to register for each particular product to sell at a smalll shop, but it appears a toy based on those chinese buses that are in cuba would be extremely popular there. How about letting someone know they could sell these chinese toy yutong buses. If you type in yutong electric diecast bus in amazon search, you will notice one that sells for 127 dollars and I have seen a lot of videos on youtube with these types of exact buses that are on that island. I know this is a high price for people in cuba. However, if you put a sign in front of the toy, you could advertise that they could have a bunch of relatives chip in and buy the bus as a toy or collectible for the entire family. Since I'm assuming it is made out of metal or is resilient, it could last for decades as a toy. Of course it would be a months wages, but a good pursuader selling products could hype up the notion of a family sharing this product and therefore chipping a few bucks each. These toys last practically forever. These buses are all over cuba and I don't think they sell these type of toys in cuba do they? I'm thinking they could purchase a certain amount, ship it to a family that owns a general store or toy store in a large box, and sell it over ten bucks above the original price. They are small enough to ship a box or even a few boxes over there, sell it in a general store or toy store that cuba allows, and I would think they would sell like hotcakes. Of course I don't know. Perhaps someone interested in this idea could do a survey of people or customers to understand whether or not this would sell or not. However, you know these buses are all over the place in cuba and especially in havana, and I doubt they would have this toy there that is made in china and selling on amazon in the united states, although I could be absolutely wrong. Anyway, I have followed cuba for a long time and just submitting my idea freely to bring something enjoyable there would be great. I disagree with the embargo and it only hurts the people really, and never anyone that is in charge of the country over there. Anyway, what do you think of my idea? Do you know any shop owners? Perhaps you could make a few bucks also? as possibly a comission for the idea. I would think some people, especially in havana are probably making at least a hundred dollars or more a month. They can't all be on rations and living above poverty level as is shown in the american news media. I know some are getting help from relatives in florida if they need it. Let me know what you think and if you could submit my idea to a distributor, who knows a shop owner that could sell this there. If you think my idea is a good idea. Perhaps you could also make a few bucks doing this yourself, if you don't want to do it for free. Again, I just thought I'd help out. I'm not seeking anything myself. Alright, that is all I have to say. Take a look at the yutong bus listed as a toy for 127 dollars on amazon. They also sell two other buses, but I don't think those would be as popular in cuba. I have seen this exact bus in youtube videos. I appreciate you reading this. If you are able to, reply and let me know what you think? That is all I have to say. Thank you.

Yes if you have those toys then it can be a pretty lucrative operation. But if you live in the United States it's going to be pretty difficult to get to Cuba these days with our government and the pandemic being in full affect. When I was there I definitely remember seeing those buses I didn't know it was such a big deal and they were a Japanese company
@203207ab4 жыл бұрын
@@riisparklover thank you for your reply back. You are right about that. I didn't think of all the issues involved. I'm not seeking anything from my idea. I'm just giving it out there for anyone to view if they want to use it. Anyone viewing what I said, are free to use my idea. I looked up the company on youtube and the company site itself. It is actually a company from china bringing the buses in. They produce buses for china itself and also ship it to other places in the world. It makes sense since they are friendly with each other and are both communist nations. However that is a rather loose term since china is basically a capitalist country with strong government control over things. It is hypocritical that we trade with china and not cuba which is not a threat at all to the US. We trade with all sorts of countries and corrupt governments, without a care in the world, but somehow cuba is a problem.

these things they show make excellent small gifts for the lccal people so dont plan on bringing them back with you, give objects over money as the money buys little there, even foreign currency may buy little as the prices even in USD are very high and much higher than in our home countries, rm

it is essential t o always have toilet paper with you as you may well have diarrhea attacks in cuba, the bathroom, even in posher hotels, may be posh and still lack toilet paper at all ! be sure to bring enough toilet paper from abroad with you especially if you know you are the type who need s a lot of paper to wipe, also brng miini soaps with you or liquid soap to disinfact after a impromptu bowel movement, you may have to go at the oddest places without warning, i had many "accidents" in cuba as diarhea can strike at any moment, be well. rm
