Bhante this place you're staying now, will you live there forever? Or are you required as a monk to keep travelling to different monasteries? I'd imagine you'd be happy to stay where you are because it's so tranquil and peaceful there

In the 1990s i came across a book above Buddhism and i read 2 teachings that had my mind go still .... we suffer because we don't accept what is and our attachments create suffering .. now, after that i searched for how to learn what the Buddha taught and all i could find was Tibetan Buddhism and i even imported books, as we did back then, but had no idea what the teachings were as it was impossible to understand. So i never forgot the 2 quotes and it took 20 years to finally come across Theravadin thanks to the Internet and finally with ease there were the Suttas and, understanding the teachings! Imagine if i had not had that Tibetan rubbish or Zen back then. I say rubbish because i wasted many years reading about monastics teaching that the Buddha instrued celibacy so not to create new life and there's the Tibetan monastics married or with girlfriends and a slew of children! Sila is basically non existent in Tibetan Buddhism abd they do not teach the 4 Noble Truths. They also teach that the Buddha turned the wheel of Dhamma 3 times! So, so much, confusing and fantasy junk in it. And the Dalai Lama wearing Rolex watches and so on didn't impress me. If not for those 2 teachings that stuck waiting to be investigated properly with real guidance I'd have completely walked away and searched elsewhere. after many years i understand these 2 teachings and can explain them. There is no way i would have understood if not for Ajahn Chah and then Ajahn Brahm and Ajahn Sumedho. Your offerings Bhante i value very much thank you as you help me understand further and persist with enduring patience and compassion 🙏

The Holy Roman Catholic Church has now said that I can not receive the sacraments because I do not believe in Hell, Bhante. I fear that I may be in great danger of excommunication! This is deeply shocking and quite saddening for me. I have told many people that I have left the church but nobody seems to care. I am now considering chanting the OM and my friend has said that "I should not concern myself with Samsara and infinite births and deaths. that they don't know the glory of your life. Let your divine teacher be the LOVE of your own Soul. Bliss up, love up, and develop telepathic communication with your own Spirit. This is GOD, within and everywhere. That's your teacher. And know that all suffering comes from the mind. So don't think too much, that's why I suggested loving a kitten or puppy or baby animals. and then bliss up and meet your creator. " I can not add much more than this, only to wonder am I on the right path?😇😇😇

I am so encouraged by your sharing your life as a Theravada monk! I love that it teaches the unvarnished teachings of the Buddha without the optional extras as you put it. As a lay person I am practising this type of Buddhism, but I have so many questions. I am now 81 years old and so my time is limited of course. One little question about yourself is this : if you can’t use money, how have you been able to go to other countries by plane? I will have more questions later, but that’s all for now. Can you give out your email address please. Namo Buddhaya.
