I lived in Bolivia for 5 years (4 years in Santa Cruz) The route through the border town of La Quiaca and then towards Tupiza. The landscape around Tupiza looks a lot like the southwest of the USA. It is the nearest town of any size close to San Vincente where Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid met their doom. But their are stories that Butch Escaped and lived out his life in Utah. Also you may have to pay 160 dollars for a Bolivian visa as an American which is good for the life of your current passport. When Evo Morrales became president he made that rule. Evo hates Americans. I believe a guy name Arce is the president now. Evo and him started out as friends but now they are enemies.

Do folks go skiing now, in the summer time? I read that it's fishing season, but I don't know many yuppie fisherman! 😅 Anyway, I've been fascinated by Cassidy and Sundance for years. Different stories of what "really" happened to them and different alleged graves, so thanks for bringing them into your narrative. Really enjoying being one of your tag alongs. ✌️🤠

Yes, there are ski resorts throughout the Andes, I visited one just east of Santiago in September and it was like a blizzard there, it was the end of the “summer” season…(reversed seasons from North America)
