Hey Miranda! So jealous, wish I was back in Madeira. There are many walking trails and boat tours around the island. Santana is a beautiful areas which I didn’t get to see but hopefully will visit next time. Restaurants to visit, il Vivaldi (Funchal), Manifattura Di Gelato (Calheta) and Panas Grill (Funchal), I didn’t try the last one but it looked good! Enjoy your trip

Which company did you pre book taxi from to calheta from Funchal Airport and how long was the journey to Calheta?

I booked the taxi through my hotel. The journey was about 40mins long

I want to travel solo but I don’t think I have the confidence to eat alone etc 😂😂 how do you do it ?

Hey! You’re not alone on that, many people want to travel solo but don’t know how to overcome the the fear. My advice is to start locally, try eating alone at your local cafe or small restaurant or going to the cinema alone or a local foods market in your town/city. This can help build up the confidence to do a day trip alone to another city. From day trip to overnight trip and soon enough overseas. Or just feel the fear and book a short trip abroad anyway.
