The item list is the most important piece of traveling; that's where the thinking and planning happens. I start way in advance of the trip so I can analyze what I plan on doing and what I need to wear for that. Then I have to wash all those items so they are fresh for the trip. After I have made my what seems to be final decisions, I hang everything together so it is, well, all in one place. Then there are the personal products - the skin cream, the body cream, the makeup, the small containers for them, the few that need to be in my carryon bag so I can use them on the way. I always check a suitcase as I don't like to carry or drag a heavy bag - I put my soft shoulder carryon under the seat in front of me so it is easy to reach during the flight. This is all for destination travel. If I were traveling around the world I would do a backpack/crossbody bag combo probably.

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed packing process! 🧳 It's clear you put a lot of thought into planning your trips, and I love how you emphasize the importance of preparation. Hanging everything together in advance is a great tip for keeping things organized and ensuring nothing is forgotten. I also appreciate your insight on checking a suitcase and keeping a soft shoulder carry-on under the seat for easy access-definitely makes the flight more comfortable! For longer trips, like traveling around the world, the backpack/crossbody bag combo sounds like a smart and practical choice. If you have any other packing tips or travel hacks, I'd love to hear them! And thank you for being part of our community. Safe travels! 🌍✈️

You want to travel lite? Forget hard sided wheelie luggage with the wheels and extendable handles. Buy a good small backpack. My 21 litre Minaal Daily convertible backpack/duffle weighs only about one third the weight of wheelie luggage. That backpack, plus a 1.5 litre fanny pack/cross body sling bag, allows me to travel lite and fast. And never have to check a bag. You should Ranger army roll your clothes and use compression packing cubes.

Great tips for traveling light! You're absolutely right; a good small backpack can make all the difference when trying to travel efficiently. The Minaal Daily convertible backpack/duffle sounds like a fantastic choice, and combining it with a fanny pack/crossbody sling bag is a smart way to keep essentials handy. The Ranger army roll and compression packing cubes are also excellent suggestions for maximizing space. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and advice with the community! Does anyone else have favorite travel gear or packing tips to share? Let's hear them! 🌏🎒

From uk mostly judt 20l bag with 7 kg max weight before you re charged more or forced to check bag in..

You are correct. Most airlines do have a max weight on carry-on luggage, which is why it's so important to have multi use clothing to keep weight down. In the USA, the average carry-on weight for domestic flights is around 35 lbs. However, each airline is different, so check before you pack. I've packed up to 20lbs in carry-ons and never had an issue.
