We're here! The first real, non-trailer video on my new journaling channel. I hope you like it! This is one of my favorite journals and while it's seen many iterations over the years, I love where it is now.

I enjoy watching people's creativity because I have none of my own! I wish I could do this sort of thing but honestly... I never go anywhere or do anything. Unfortunately, that has been my life situation for some years now, dealing with working barely part time and with an ongoing family health situation. I'm home all day, every day. Nothing interesting to say. So I'll live through others who have more interesting lives and can document their adventures. It's really great to have a record like that, and maybe pass it on to children or younger family members through the years.
@Yesica19932 жыл бұрын
Your handwriting is beautiful! I was always complimented on my handwriting, and I even used to do actual calligraphy for a while. I did baptism certificates for my church, wedding invitations, that type of thing. But I haven't done it in years. And now even my regular handwriting has turned to crap because I rarely have the need to write anymore. Even when I was working in an office, I could go the whole day and not need to write anything because everything was via email / voicemail.

Ahh yes! I recently found some of my diaries from when I was a kid and it's so interesting to see how my style has developed. Happy to keep sharing the writing too as long as people don't get invasive about reading it/commenting to me about it! I don't share very private writing, but sometimes it still feels a little weird.

This is SO satisfying. I like the idea of having a curated journal alongside a "brain dump" journal.
@JournalSunshine2 жыл бұрын
Ahh yes, I love having different places for each! You could totally add a second journal into one of these covers for that (the chic sparrow ones can fit more than four if you piggyback with extra elastics). Personally, I like to brain dump in a smaller journal so I fill up lots of pages quickly so mine is in a separate book (A6 size at the moment!).

I started journaling at the beginning of the pandemic and have found it very therapeutic. The time was going by in a blur of anxiety and boredom and journaling forced me to stay present. It saved me.
@JournalSunshine2 жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you for sharing that! I definitely know that feeling. While I was journaling for a long time before, that definitely kickstarted me into my current multiple journals at once phase. I needed a place where I could vent about things that upset me but I wanted to keep that separate from documenting good things that happened, and then sometimes nothing was happening and I just wanted to collage with random supplies that didn’t document anything in particular. And here I am!

Oooh the Citywest Key card - that brings back memories of LeakyCon :3 I love these kinds of notebooks and have been keeping mine in the same style for the past years. Much less artsy I have to admit just because I rarely have time to actually sit down and indulge in journaling but I am still happy every time I look back at my journals :)

Neat! I've thought before of making a scrapbook of trips and special events, maybe I'll get around to it at some point. For now, I just document things the old-fashioned way: by writing them in a blank book. Sometimes with more detail, sometimes with less. Sometimes more poetically, sometimes less so. It depends on my mood and-let's be honest- on how much time I have!
@JournalSunshine2 жыл бұрын
I love that! Sometimes, that’s what I’m in the mood for as well - I sit down with all of these supplies and photos much less often and it’s easier to get behind, but I do flip back through this one more than the others.

Just now found you because of your other channel when you had super short hair... ...but I'm soooo interested in the TN concept. I have 0 supplies at the moment, well if you don't count my Bujo book that I could probably fit in a TN ackwardly-- but the idea of having multiple notebooks for multiple topics in one book-- Brilliant! How is it that I've just now found it. I'm so behind :) Thanks for your new channel- I may have to bing watch ❤
@JournalSunshine2 жыл бұрын
Yes!! The multiple notebooks thing pulled me in too (along with how pretty and portable they are) but one thing I learned once I started using them is that you can change it up all the time whenever you feel like you need something new! As someone who rarely finishes a notebook without starting a new one first, being able to change the order or the cover makes it feel new again and helps so much with motivation!

@JournalSunshine2 жыл бұрын
Ooh, I bet you could use a charm like that on a traveler’s notebook that has an elastic that comes off when you untie the knot (some have a metal brad that’s difficult to remove). You could just untie the elastic, pull it out, slide the charm on, and put it back.

My favorite journal right now is actually a bound book and I have it in a Chic Sparrow folio instead of a TN! Gives a similar feel to the TN but it lays flat and has more pages, and I can even fit two notebooks in it if I tuck one notebook’s cover in the front and the other’s in the back. So glad you’re excited for this channel! I’m excited too. Thanks so much for commenting!

Hi! I just found your channel and I'm loving the format and the way you talk and film. I just wanted to ask what the cards with washi tape were for? Like do you just have a small amount of them wrapped around the card and then use as needed? Thanks so much! Love your channel so far.
@JournalSunshine2 жыл бұрын
Yes! When I’m home, I use the washi tape on their rolls, but washi tape rolls take up a good amount of space in your bag if you’re traveling. So when I’m taking my journal on a trip, wrapping a few of my favorites around some old hotel key cards allows me to bring a selection of different tapes without the bulk.

On my main channel, I would spent over an hour compiling 20-30 product links for every video and putting them in the description and people would still ask me for specific ones in the comments. 😂 If you see something you’re curious about, feel free to comment asking about it and I’ll try to help you find it if it’s still available somewhere!

how long have you had the Canon Ivy printer? has it been working well? I've been thinking about getting one myself but I'm not sure if it's one of those gadgets that'll stop working after a few months
@JournalSunshine2 жыл бұрын
I’ve had the Ivy printer for 3 or 4 years (I did a Canon sponsored video and they sent it to me to use on a project on my main channel) and it still works perfectly! With other mobile printers, I’ve struggled to get them to connect and this one has never had problems with that. Minor downsides I can live with: the battery runs out pretty quickly and it sometimes overheats if I print a lot of photos in one sitting, but I leave it plugged in and let it cool for a few minutes after a couple prints and it works well again after that.

@JournalSunshine Жыл бұрын
I journal a lot now, but one of my favorite things are the 3 or 5 year journals! Each page is split into small sections so you just write a little about each day on the designated page. I keep mine in my bedroom and write in it before I go to sleep. The best part comes when you get to the second year - you start back at the beginning and write on the same page as that day the year before so you can read what you were doing that day in previous years! So cool and it’s only a challenge if you fall more than a week behind. I have the hobonichi one which comes out in the fall, but midori makes a bunch of options that are available here: www.jetpens.com/Midori-Multi-Year-Diaries/ct/4696 Looks like Leuchtturm has them too! www.jetpens.com/Leuchtturm1917-Some-Lines-a-Day-5-Year-Journals/ct/6762
