Jakhu temple is very famous temple in Himachal and Shimla specially known for Hanuman Mandir.
At this place in the time of Ramayan when Shri Ram's younger brother Lakshman was unconscious in the battle with Indrajeet then Hanuman came to Himalayan ranges to take sanjivani buti so that Lakshman could get well.
When Hanuman ji was on the way to Himalaya he came to this place to take little rest and at this place Rishi named Yaksh used to meditate here.
In due course of time this place was converted into a temple and it got its name Jakhu because of Rishi Yaksh.
Jakhu temple is situated on the top hill of one of the seven hills of Shimla and it is 2 and half kilometre away from Shimla Mall Road and takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour to Trek, also one can hire taxi and ropeway services are also there from mall Road.
In the campus of Jakhu Temple huge statue of Hanuman Ji of 108 feet tall has been established.
This is a major tourist attraction of Shimla for the tourists who come to Shimla.
Also nowadays ropeway is also a very good attraction in Shimla to go to jakhu Temple.

According to the Ramayana, Hanuman stopped at the location to rest while searching for the Sanjivni Booti to revive Lakshmana. A giant 108-feet-high idol of Hanuman was unveiled at Jakhu Hanuman ji temple on 4 November 2010. At 108 feet (33 m), it Asurpasses the statue of Christ the Redeemer, which measures at 98 feet (30 m), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The cost of construction was Rs 1.5 crores. The public unveiling was officiated by Abhishek Bachchan.
The temple is accessible by foot, horse, taxi or ropeway. The Jakhu Ropeway is an aerial lift that links a point near the centre of Shimla to the temple. It was developed by Jagson International Limited and opened in 2017.

One can have a darshan of 108 feet long statue of Lord Hanuman from ropeway which considered as world’s tallest Hanuman statue at the highest altitude of over 8100 feet. It makes your ropeway ride more valuable. The ropeway connects the Jakhu temple to the ridge ground. The whole distance is about 8 km, usually takes an hour by walking but a cable car makes it convenient and saves time to visit the temple.
How to reach the Jakhu Temple Shimla ropeway boarding point?
Reach at the Historical Ridge, from there it's only a 500-meter walk to the Jakhu Ropeway start point.

thanks for efforts in making this video. This is special for me as I used to live in Jakhoo 7-8 years ago. 4:00 ( taxi stand board) per jo do sadak hai... waha per left side per Ex CM Virbhadra singh ji ka ghar tha jaha se wo aksar HP govt ke kaam dekhte the. Right side per Thandu ki halwai ki dukan hai. Ussi jagah se 6-7 ghar chhod kar mera Room hota tha. Main waha 6 saal raha. Phir wapas Delhi aa gaya. thanks for showing Jakhoo road.
