New Years at Rådhuspladsen in Copenhagen is indeed the closest thing we in Denmark get to a warzone. People will fire off rockets along the ground instead of into the air, or fire bolts from the Roman Candles after eachother like it was a snowball fight. It is absolutely mental. I went there a couple of times when I was a young adult and I have had my share for a life time. Instead I actually prefer going to a beach house or to some of friends that live a bit outside the cities where you get to see the entire horizon illuminated by fireworks from every house. It is a remarkable spectacle - best enjoyed when you aren't trying to dodge behind the next-best human shield.

Berlin sounds like an interesting place to be for New Years. We will have to try that, however I think Barcelona will be first. I am Spanish on my mothers side and we have been planning a trip to Spain for 2022. We also love France and have been all over. We were actually there in 2015, both August (friends let us use their place in Eyglieres), and then in Paris in November. Our family was in Tivoli for New Years Eve, Dec. 31, 2019. We do not typically go out for big New Years celebrations, however as it was Tivoli, we convinced the less enthusiastic to go. It was an experience being there and then walking out into the street which was closed to cars and open to families and their fireworks. Love your videos as they fill the gap in our experiences in Denmark.

Usually Tivoli Gardens have their own firework show. I know they had a giant one, props their biggest one yet at 23:15 or something in 2020. I watched it from the 7.th floor of a building not so far away, and it was amazing. Tivoli usually has firework shows some days, if not all days between Christmas and New years :)

In Denmark you have to jump in to the new year from something. My grandpa jumped from as newspaper as he were not that mobile, but usually you jump from something a bit higher.

I think it might be this, abnb.me/RUJELkOqllb. I will say I was just in Berlin and saw a building going up across from where we stayed blocking the view. It may not be as good for NYE as it was years ago.
