I followed the Hollar Family on every video as they travel cross country on the search for their forever homestead. It has been so much fun for this 82 yr. old woman to watch them grow and prosper, just as I have watched and enjoyed you and Josh create your homestead. I so love your cooking videos along with Meg's. The creativity the two of you have with food is unbelievable and so fulfilling to watch and learn and be able to applied for my family of two. Bless you for sharing this wonderful trip in enlightenment for you with all of us.

Becky, I retired last June at the age of 71. All my friends talked about their plans to travel, spend time in warmer climates, etc. All I wanted to do was get serious about my 4 little raised beds and do some canning. Things i never had time for while raising two kids alone and then just working, working, and working. You have been an inspiration to me. I take your ideas and downsize to my needs. Thank you for all your many videos, ideas and encouragement. BTW: my friends think I'm crazy! I tell them this is the person I am, a homebody! Done the travel, done the career, time to concentrate on my joy! Relearning old skills, and new ones! Gotta go figure out my planting needs and where I'll be setting up the seedling station!

Hey Becky you came to my area of NC. Charlotte is just right down the road from me. Honestly I avoid it due to the traffic. You lucked up since it was on a weekday. Weekdays are crazy traffic, plus you actually didn’t go downtown Charlotte. It’s is a beautiful city and very cultural with so many high culture restaurants, southern foods and of course food trucks. It’s filled with museums, performing arts theaters and just about any type of club you can imagine. I watch the Hollar Homestead and while watching Ben’s video of the workshop I thought one of the women looked like you. I back it up twice and decided that had to be you. Reading the comments there were a lot of others who thought it was you too. It’s great that you KZbinrs watch each others videos and become friends too. Congratulations on learning new skills in homesteading!

Becky, I really enjoyed this. My father in law owned a farm. He raised cattle and did his own butchering. I went into their kitchen and there was this humongous beef liver hanging over a huge Tupperware cake taker. Wow I'll never forget it! I don't personally like liver so it grossed me out. I got stuck by myself at BWI airport because of a blizzard. There were a little more people than the airport you were in but it is truly spooky being in a deserted airport when you are by yourself!

I had the chance to attend a workshop like you went to. Yes very eye-opening for me. Loved learning, but was not able to do my own pigs. 😮 glad I had the experience tho. Thanks for sharing. 😊

When I saw you on the Hollar homestead video I was amazed! So glad you did this, I also love Bri from Scratch, and one of my favorite aspects of the Hollar’s vlogs are Meg’s cooking, canning and all the various things she does in the kitchen, both Ben and Meg are so talented and so I was just fascinated by this, thank you for sharing all you did, observed and experienced there. So it’s interesting because I watch all of the Hollars vlogs, Bri from scratch and your videos! So this was really special!

OMG... I thought I seen you on Hollar's video... Then said 'Nay, that can't be Becky'. LoL. I guess it could be you. Great to see you there and to watch it also here. I was fun to watch my favorite homesteaders together on one video... Thank you for taking us along !

That brought back memories! My dad had a cousin who raised pigs so we would get a hog each year and break it down ourselves and freeze it.

I have had the opportunity several times to process venison and found it very educational. I had a rough time with the initial process. The actual butchering the cuts of meat was great. I appreciated that they didn't season the ground pork, different profiles for what you are making from the meat. Thank you for sharing your journey.
