A cool coincidence, Eva zu Beck just posted her latest video about driving to Prudhoe Bay. Good stuff, I recommend checking it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHO7mWeZo7mMnsk

So wonderful to see Arcata again. Lived there for 38 years and graduated from HSU, as you did. I first arrived in 1970!!!! It was a Mecca for hippie living, swimming naked in the rivers, backpacking Marble Mts., and living off the land out in the countryside! It was a wonderful, beautiful, and free thinking place. Have lived in Bend, Oregon since 2007. Humboldt County will ALWAYS be a very special place in my heart. Thanks so much for sharing it. I didn’t know you had spent time there. Makes me love your channel all the more!!!!

What a cool video how you mixed your walk in that beautiful area with a past trip. Love it. I'm getting a motorbike license and getting a smaller motorbike. Then I'll be doing some long trips up and down and across the U.S.A. You inspired me. (I'm a woman who has traveled solo using public transport but never on a motorbike.)

Interesting that you mentioned the rainbow gathering in Taos. I just happened to be in Taos during that gathering that year. I was there with over a dozen of my college classmates and a few professors from the Univ. of Alabama doing our 6-week geological field course. I remember the rainbow crowd VERY WELL during that time. Very interesting to say the least.

Hi Gabriel, It sounds like you're heading out to Portland, I'm surprised California never had a big Woodstock party like in New York even though there was Haight and Ashbury in San Francisco which was the center for the counterculture. it seems that California was always on the cutting edge of the rebellious nature and turning the conventional upside-down.

Gabe - Enjoyed the video. Curious, in your recent interview with Nora Dunn you kicked around the possibility of trying out a permanent address for a bit to see what that might be like. Any further developments on that front? Thanks.

@@GabrielTravelerVideos you'd love it. i was there in 2007 it's a massive country. one little thing i didn't like was the culture is almost exactly the same as the UK/ USA it's kinda like a mixture of those...but i'm sure it's more interesting when you get off the beaten track which i sadly didn't

You should hitch up there. I did it in 2013 with a trucker, managed to get there and back in less than 24 hours from Fairbanks. Had to wait 3 hours at coldfoot at 1am but other than that didn't take too long the waiting times and took 5 lifts in total. Afterwards I went to the magic bus (into the wild)...awesome adventure 😁 Would love to see you doing a video up to prudhoe/in a forest of you being chased by bears, but your still telling a travel story with your cam at the same time😂

Why don't you hitch anymore? Did you get sick of waiting/too much equipment to carry? Also why no camping/hammucking? Did you get bored of it/too old? I have hitch all states US, Canada, central and south America, Asia, Russia, Europe, oceania (100 countries) and soon Africa. It's just unbeatable for experiences. Just wish I was good Infront of a camera (like you) then I could be paid to travel!!!

I checked out Eva Ze Brucks channel, on your recommendations. But as a woman myself I don't like it when I see women using bikini butt-to-the-camera scenes and putting it as a thumbnail for clickbait. I can see how some men would be attracted, but for me it's a turn off regardless of how good the rest of her content is. I can almost hear her saying, OK, for my 1 and a half million horndog male subs let me bathe myself and give a pout and a butt angle, then walk up the ladder for awhile. That's a no for me. That kind of thing triggers me big time.

I'm donating the revenue from the two videos about my friends. Other than that I'm just telling some old travel stories. These videos don't get many views and don't make much money. I'm only making them for the fun of reminiscing about old times and sharing some travel tales, while I think about what I'm doing next.
