Traveling Thailand with a NEW BIG BIKE Tour Company

Today we leave Pattaya on a 3 day big bike tour, and discuss how the tour group adventure option may be the ideal way for you to go touring Thailand. A new big bike touring service is just being launched and they need a few volunteer experienced riders to go out on the very first tour in order to tweak and fine tune the service. It's a long first day but at the end of the road is a wonderful river resort. Enjoy the Ride!

I'm married to a Thai so I have been there over the various seasons. But I have to say our April-May 2016 trip had absolutely brutal heat. Not just Thailand, it was being felt over a lot SE and S Asia.

We drove up from BKK and stayed at that same place a couple of years ago. Really enjoyed it...apart from a couple of us getting quite sick from swimming in the river. My friend from Australia nearly passed out in a doctor's clinic in Chiang Rai a couple of day's later.

5 day tour, no camping gear (hotels) and a chase truck. I'd loose the wide a$$ side boxes and make the bikes more narrow for lane splitting. Looks like a lot of fun.

Brings back sweet memories of attending the “Bridge Over the River Kwai” sound & light show way back in December of 1995. I was with a study tour group of about 25 people and we stayed at a floating hotel on the river very much similar to the one where you stayed. I recently watched, get this...old school VHS footage of the special effects and fireworks of that particular re-enactment show that I took a quarter century ago. Sweet memories! Great video. I have a feeling that Vee wanted to come Along but you had to explain to her the nature of the trip. It's fast pace and keeping up with the other bikers. Looks like a great ride enjoying Thailand and for a tour great idea. But I think it should come with a worning driving here is a LOT DIFFERENT then driving in North America or Europe where 99% of drivers follow the Law, here in Thailand it's like 99% of the drivers are driving above or around the Law. New riders to Thailand should just watch how Thai's drive for a week or two before you ever get on a scooter or big bike and expect the unexpected at all times. Have a great trip we'll be watching.

Hi buddy my sort of bike tour, love the D bigbike i`ll be going there when i come to thailand, I stayed at the float house last time and really enjoyed it , we parked up river and got the long boat down and did plenty of tours but on our own, we will be going back again for sure. Love your tours.

I remember the trip I had to River Kwai in April 2019, all that climbing to see the waterfalls. The heat was unbearable, 40 degrees and having been out drinking the night before, that didn't help the slightest.

Good video Lucas, The business model looks similar to Siam Handlebar in Hua Hin (highly recommended BTW). Pattaya has lacked this for many years, it has great potential once the borders reopen. Do they only rent ER6s ?, a good bike but not very exciting, in Thailand I only ride things that excite me ;).

They have Versys 650s and CB500X and even a Tenere 1200 right now but he hopes to do a partnership with BMW later and it will all be Beemers if that goes through.

I know Its a pretty penny but i would 100% recommend a Klim mesh jacket for that weather. its what i will be wearing the day I am able to move to Thailand, and my luggage will be packed with Scorpion exo helmets.

there is so much to do in kanchanaburi ,much more than the bridge and the cemetries .i would recomend anybody going to thailand for first time check it out only 2 hours from bangkok

A fantastic little business venture Lucas. A friend of mine started something similar here in South Africa and his biggest gripe was the customers would not stay in staggered formation while riding which caused a few close mishaps especially with riders not familiar with riding on the left side of the road. Looks like your riding companions are all seasoned bikers though. Enjoy

Yeah, I told him they will get all types when they open to the public so they have terms and conditions you have to sign off on before riding. Any unsafe acts which may jeopardize the safety of the group will not be tolerated 👍

I miss being able to go touring on a bike. I lost the sight in one eye in a golfing accident. Riding with only one eye in Australia is dangerous. In Thailand I think it would be suicidal.

Bit confused because no explanation, do you ride the bike or do they drive the bike. If you ride the bike you will need International Driving Permit I am sure.

Yes correct, you ride the bike and should have either a Thai license or an international permit issued by your home country.

Yes, it was hot but it's always hot here, you get used to it plus it gives everybody something to moan about 😂. I think I had a ham and cheese omelet with hashbrowns and toast for breakfast and we had several guys from England, one from Ireland, one from Whales and 2 Americans counting myself.

Yes, the routes are planned to avoid congested areas. But the feeling you have will be based mainly on your confidence level.

If you're not in Thailand, it's wise to learn in your home country where you understand the rules of the road. Learning to ride a bike and at the same time learning the rules of the road in somewhere like Thailand can be very risky.

The actual tour will have shorter days. Remember, we did a 5 day tour in 3 days so we had to do a bunch more riding per day 👍

A couple years back before this WooHoo Flu season, I researched a bike tour company here that went up to Chaing Mai from Chonburi and they had a couple of different packages based on the number of days ie: one week... 10 days .. etc. And the prices were reasonable. Not sure if that company is still around. Like the concept though... and glad to see someone still giving it a go. Ok... c u on the next one.

They plan to have multiple tours from 5 to 10 days I believe, some will also go into Cambodia and Laos. All with open borders of course.
