You're amazing leaving in the middle of a pandemic. I left NZ 26 years ago, heading for Manchester and my Dad said the Arndale got bombed just as I checked in . I said I'll be OK. I was only going for 4 years and stayed 20.. Did live in care. What an experience. The people I met, the places I went. Yep I had health issues and my parents died. Sad I didn't have them to share it with. Retired back here 6 years ago. All the best to you. You'll make it. You can always return home and live in a tiny house.

Great video guys! I have just found your channel via the YT algorithm. Brilliant idea to represent what British people can do with FIRE. I found MMM probably five years ago and unfortunately my family haven’t been on the same page but some more personal freedom beckons and I will be able to make my own decisions so no excuses! I’ve seen your most recent and it looks like the honesty is really there, so standing by to binge watch as much as possible. Thank you.

We just came across you guys from (Snail Travelers) video who mentioned you. By curiosity we clicked on your names and couldn't stop ourselves from watching your first video. At first we thought you just might be like everyone else as the video started kind of slow, lol, but we kept watching and found that we had so many things in common. You have inspired and motivated us. We will certainly follow your journey and at some point connect. The thing we wanted to leave you with is this. As creatives ourselves, we noticed something very beautiful at the end of your video. As you both walked off to the (sunset) aka the right of the screen .... there was a young couple running in the background towards the left. It was just a brief moment but what a visual message of you walking towards the next chapter of your life while a young couple begins their journey, as you have done before. Can you spot it? Wishing you the best travels and that all your desires manifest as you dream. Cheers, Margie & Eduardo (yes just our 'For KZbin Only' acct, lol)

Hey For KZbin! You are most welcome around these parts! How cool you found us through our friends the Snail Travelers! We are having a video call with those two this weekend and we can't wait. You really must keep in touch, you sounds a very cool couple and you made us go back to that first video (awful isn't it? lol) and we saw those two running at the end of the video, that was indeed very poetic, thank you for pointing it out. Best wishes Neil & Sarah

BRAVO Sarah and Neal! Congratulations! Kurt n I decided to do exactly what you both are embarking on. Our FIRE pays for our travels, living and misc costs. We are fortunate in not having had to sell our home as we need to return home for two months in the year for business purposes. Also, we're Self Funded Retirees, ie not Government reliant on a pension. Travelling like this was always our plan well before we decided to retire. I gave up working in my 40's and Kurt at 63. We were always consistent and disciplined financial planners and, I believe, this is where our forte lay to stand us in good stead. You are both going to have a great time. There will be some worrying times to face but you will be amazed by the assistance you receive. We wish you happy trails and all the very best on your journeys ahead.

@@2GoRoam Most definitely want to meet up! Here are a couple of laughs that we have in common: my mom made me a “home made” high school letterman’s jacket from one of her jackets as I couldn’t afford genuine one (but in all fairness, it was COOLER than the real (and super expensive ones) and I was one of the top athletes so it made it little easier. And Teresa is “in training” to get rid of all her purses, jewelry, and other “nonsense”. Thirdly, I love how all your trips lead to BEER! Want to stay in touch here or swap emails or something?

Well, after discovering your videos not too long ago and watching some of your MX videos --I always enjoy going back to the first one to find out how it all started--it takes a willingness to admit that life is short and courage to give up everything and say -what the heck are we going to do to get the most out of it?! I love what you're both doing and it's always exciting to me when someone gets out of their comfort zone and interacts with the world around them. I am excited to hear about all your travels. I'm learning so many new things about travel, finance, and fun! Retiring early has always been on my radar and so I am looking forward to enjoying your journey. One of the things I'll be interested to learn is if you will just keep traveling or will take a break to go home to visit family/friends throughout the ten years of travel you are planning and the pros/cons of constant travel.
@2GoRoam3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cindie, great to have you on board! Thank you for your comment, we are over the moon that you have found us and are enjoying our videos, comments like this mean the world to us :-) Yes, we will be travelling back home to visit family and friends so plan to spend 1 month a year back in the UK (unless we need to be there longer of course!). Cons to long term travel - we obviously miss family and friends very much and 'admin' - things are so much more difficult when you're abroad than in our home country. Pros - well, there is never a dull moment, always something new and exciting to learn about ourselves and of course, meeting new people from around the world, we are amazed just how many friends you can make, chance meetings with people leading to potential long term relationships. We so happy that you have joined our journey, we hope you enjoy! Best wishes Neil & Sarah

When you talk about experiences it reminds me of our trip to Italy 5 years ago. We are from Canada, and this was a bucket list trip. On our last full day in Rome, we were inside the Vatican waiting while my husband went to get holy water to bring home to his mom. My son - who was 12 at the time- threw his arms around my neck and said “thank you so much for this amazing trip”. I still well up thinking about it. Then working out if they were in places that we would like to visit. Little tip from us, keep a notepad by when watching KZbin videos on travel, you'll be amazed at how much you forget as you move onto the next one. Taking notes of where people stayed or restaurants they visited. Really helps when putting an itinerary together. Thanks so much for getting in touch, we really appreciate it. Neil & Sarah

WOW! We have reached the Australian Outback?! It was fun to start the KZbin channel right at the start. I've lost count over the years of the number of times I wished I had started something earlier. Some examples: 1. I wish I had kept every ticket stub from all the gigs I'd ever been to. 2. I wish I had photographed every car I ever owned (past tense... hoping to never own another car :-) ) So we didn't want to start this journey and then say to ourselves "Wouldn't it have been great to record what we were thinking before we got started." So we just went for it. Thanks so much for getting in touch and for following our journey, really hope you enjoy it! Best wishes (Neil) & Sarah

We see that you too are looking to document your travels. Really go for it, commit to it. It is a lot more work but unless you start you'll end up never picking up a camera. We wish we had started documenting our process even earlier! Looking forward to seeing you on KZbin soonish! :-)

Hey Fiona! Thanks for the kind words. We love the word 'vicarious', that is literally what we have been doing on KZbin for the last few years as we watched people travelling as the rain hit our window at home.... Sunday afternoons were our time to really live vicariously on KZbin, as the creeping sunday night feeling built up, we would be watching people eating street food in Thailand or visiting historic locations in the Balkans. 7 days! Count them down Fiona and enjoy! :-)

That is really cool to hear! Great that you are doing this as a team also. Please do stick around as our content is going to really change up when we hit the road. We are going to be doing a lot more on Cost of Living which I think you'll find particularly interesting. Sarah and I like to challenge ourselves and there are a few areas where we plan to do that. @@2GoRoam looks class! I can’t wait to get to the same point in life. What you did is inspiring and a great advert for those pursuing FIRE in the UK. How long ago did you start your journey towards FIRE and has your FI number always been the same? I always get a little nervous about targeting a lower FIRE number (say ~£500k) but then I also consider that I will probably not completely retire and will likely try to do something to make some side income (e.g. if this KZbin channel takes off).

I love your videos! ❤ Thanks so much for sharing. My husband and I are in the process of doing the same. I am having a major hurdle of getting rid of everything! I love my "stuff" and it seems like an impossible feat to downsize to nearly nothing. Do you have any guidance or examples of what you went through, or how you did it? Thank you!

Hey Tiffany! Thanks for getting in touch and congratulations on doing something similar! Trust us when we say, you won't regret it... we were very attached to our stuff but it feels like a weight has been lifted when we don't have to worry about all that any more. We did do a video on how we downsized but it was one of our first videos so wasn't our best... we are too embarrassed to watch it again but if you can handle it, here is a link : kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6ewgp6Ii5mrZpY Also there are a couple of really good documentaries on Netflix, the first is called Minimalism and the same guys made a follow up. Check those out, they will help motivate. Hope you are joining us on our channel as we travel the world and once again, congratulations on the downsizing! Best wishes Neil & Sarah

I would be interested to know if you had considered renting out your UK home as opposed to selling it and using that rental income to supplement your other income streams? I have been planning to leave the USA since Jan 22, 2021, and I am so close to having the house empty (not sold yet but trying) ... I really liked your video style --- What video editing software are you using and are you using a specific company's video editor plug-ins (which ones) ... The editing and graphics are better than 90% of the travel vloggers on KZbin.
@2GoRoam2 жыл бұрын
Hey Mark! I typed this reply a couple of days ago but it didn't seem to appear.... Lets try again... Good luck with emptying the house, it does take time and we would just say not to put pressure on yourself, do it in phases and you will get there. Thank you so much for the kind comment on the videos! I use Davinci Resolve (free version) and do not use any plugins at all, everything you see comes from Davinci. I sometimes do some of the graphics in Powerpoint and then export for use in Davinci. Have only been using Davinci for a year and it is a steep learning curve, but it pays off and the more time I spend learning it is amazing how much easier things become. I can thoroughly recommend it. Best wishes Neil & Sarah
