I'm from CT, and I've built stone walls in CT & VT. It takes vision, strength, passion and patience. Stone walls wwere built for a variety of reasons, property boundaries, grazing & farming. Larger stones represent stones removed for grazing. Smaller stones indicates plowing, farming. Re: trees by historical walls, some removed for damage & age, some removed to stop the roots from disturbing the walls and or the road. It's cheaper to cut down a tree than repair the road from root damage. Re: Flat marker. Headstones are reminiscent of the Family name, foot markers represent the individual laid to rest at a particular place within the family plot. This was a great trip James, thank you and you're dad for sharing these with us. On your next trip, take a tour through our Castles. 🏰 New England ha a lot of history. Old Newgate Prison, Gillette Castle, so much more! Safe travels! In VT, check out our witch windows! 👀

Lovely scenery and indeed a beautiful graveyard. I think you could almost call this one a ‘drive through’ graveyard. Never seen that before. But I liked it. What a really fairytale church you found there. Thank you for sharing!

Such beautiful scenery, and the church definitely looked like something from a fairy tale. The stone wall reminded me of the UK 🇬🇧 a little.

I thought so too, really different.

James, Possibly that stone was dislodged by the tree growing in front of it. Some graves have a foot marker as well as a headstone. That church looks European. Cheers, Rik

I was thinking the stone wall was really old, what age do you think it might be? 100 years? 200 years?
@rikspector3 жыл бұрын
@@americasbackroadswithcharl7688 probably started around the time the Cemetery was growing, it takes a while to build walls like that. Perhaps there’s info about the Church on line. Rik

Coral Gables 🌴🇺🇸 We Summer in Vermilion Ohio. on Lake Erie and landscape is similar. Old girl runs best about 45 ? ? 🏄

Runs nice between 45 - 50, but I believe that the factory stated top speed was 71 mph back in the day. We could install a dealer option when the car was originally sold and that was a Columbia 2 speed rear end, but we really like having it stock and enjoying the backroads.

Did you make these videos before you had to go back to school?
@americasbackroadswithcharl76883 жыл бұрын
Yes. I have been trying to edit them as I have time, but will not be able to keep up even the pace of once a week due to the many school projects I have at the present time. I will of course upload the whole series beginning in November.

Saw a 45mph speedlimit sign, and people passing you . . . i'm sure you've said, but what speed does the ford like to cruise at?

We were traveling 45-50 and yes they were flying past us.
