They say its a spanish speaking country but everyone does not speak Spanish and those who do have a difficult accent. You can get by in Asuncion but outside the city in el campo its mostly Guarani. And nobody speaks English. Its very hard to communicate outside the city. One very important thing you didn't mention is it is HOT as HELL in the summer. over 100 F. It is quite dangerous if you aren't accustomed to it. I never had any trouble in the city. I stayed in catedral and went out at night with no problems. I agree , Stay out of chacarita and dont go flashing your phone and cash. As for food, Empanada de Mandioca is a must mention. Also, to be clear, Terere is the drink. They dont really have "mate" in paraguay. The vessel is a guampa. The straw is a bombilla. In argentina you call the vessel a Mate for drinking mate. in paraguay you drink terere from the guampa and the herb is Yerba. This is important to know as it is such a big part of the culture. And what about Piki Volley? I love that you enjoyed paraguay. I hope this encourages others to check it out.

I lived in Paraguay for 29 of my current 67 years Just came back in 2021. It is a nice place, but crime is not rare, even outside the capital, and unless they happen on the event, the police are not that effective. On the other hand, you can live much cheaper than you seem to realize. I lived easily there on $200 a month, but outside Asuncion.. Your citation of other things is sometimes flawed, but not dangerous to visitors. I suggest not driving yourself unless you grew up in a chaotic driving environment. - I was glad I had been there for a while before I had to drive. And the people, especially outside Asuncion, are the nicest and most polite I have ever known. If you mention that to them, they will tell you, 'We are only that way to foreigners' but I saw kindness to each other too. Decent medical care for routine things is available in any mid-sized town, but complicated procedures have to go to Asuncion or one or two other cities. Stay clear of the border with Brazil unless well guided, that is an area dominated by or disputed by Brazilian drug gangs.

Just arrive via air to Asuncion 2 day ago. My partner and I did not have onward travel tix, did not know when/how we would leave & did not know where we would be staying the entire time. They let us in easily though as they do have discretion in what they do. I was ready to show financial info if needed to show that we can support ourselves. But, this is risky as more and more airlines and passport controls are asking about this factor.

Very informative video my friend , I could tell you took your time and did your research . I encourage more people to come to Paraguay 🇵🇾, but I think extending the Visa to 90 days and making it more affordable, would probably bring more tourist to Paraguay . Now with the 2030 World Cup being partially held in Paraguay , maybe more people will become aware of the country and what it has to offer . From the videos I see , the country is slowing modernizing itself. Overall , great video 👍

Paraguay is the only country world wide that has 2 official language Which is Spanish and Guaran which is te native Indian language.. Of course, English language is a foreign language to us , so why would we speak it. If anything you visiting my country, you should learn to speak Spanish. And Guarani will take u a long minute to learn. Even people from Paraguay don't speak the real guarani language. We speak Yopara. Which is a mix of Guaraní and Spanish together. .So basically you can say that Paraguay speaks 3 language's. all together. Espanol,Guarani and Yopara.

The most likely reason you don't see much petty crime in Paraguay is because lots of people can have guns and carry them (concealed carry permits). Most homicides in Paraguay are caused by wars between smuggling and drug traffic gangs. Paraguay and Uruguay are the most armed south american countries. Gun control freaks will say it is not related to low crime rates, but we south americans know it is.

In asuncion people dont carry guns. definitely not in el campo. there is no self defense laws in paraguay. you kill someone you face murder charges no matter what the conditions so people are not quick to shoot each other. And permits arent easy to acquire. You need good reason. There are no gun rights in paraguay. it is a privledge. And if youre caught with a gun and you havent a permit then youre in deep shit.

The process to obtain firearms in Paraguay is certainly less laborious than in many Latin American countries. Because Paraguayans are good people. In Paraguay, all weapons are regulated by law Ley Nº 4036/2010. It controls what types of firearms, explosives and ammunition you can acquire in the country. Among the valid reasons for possession are hunting, self-defense and collection, and it is necessary to obtain a special license for each of your weapons. Unlike the bureaucracy required to carry weapons in the country, the process to obtain the document of possession is usually simple and without obstacles. Recent data point to a steady drop in incidents involving firearms in the country. In 2017, the average firearm-related mortality was approximately 5.46 deaths per 100,000 inhabitants. This number is half the average found in the United States and, in absolute numbers, does not reach 1% of the cases observed in neighboring Brazil during the same period.

I was denied entry into Paraguay from Peru because I did not have the yellow fever vax card. They certainly DO care about it, but you only need to have it if you are traveling from one of 4 countries (Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, and Venezuela). Big "F--- you" to the Latam attendant in Peru that wouldn't let me on the plane and was a dick about it.

From any country who has yellow fever risk they demand you the vaccine, I think not just for the four you mentioned.

@@TalesFromTheRoad Just before the 2022 South American games that took place in Asuncion near the airport, I believe in late NOV 2022. It was done of course to offer a better and cleaner capital city to the visitors from all over the Latin American continent. These shanty town dwellers have repeatedly been offered and re-settled in project housing somewhere else; however, they always come back because they prefer to be where the action is, near the historic center, as opposed to a distant "boring" site,

These were and will continue to be the lands of Paraguay. The music adds nothing and is just annoying. Just this irritating noise in the background. Very few people now how to use music right. You can't put a bunch of static in the background. Your voice is fine on it's own.

I might have to go there. When I was in Argentina (Puerto Iguazu), i thought about going there for a few days, but literally everyone I asked (Argentinians and Brazilians) advised me against it, opinions ranging from "it's not worth it" to "it's downright horrible, and you'll get mugged"

For some reason Brazil and argentina will always give tourist bad reference when it comes to Paraguay. Like any other country. Paraguay has his dangerous places. Paraguay is a beautiful country, But what makes it all worth visiting is the People. They are very hospitable friendly. They will treat you like if u were one of the family member's without even knowing you. Paraguay is one of the countries in latin America that their economy level is above other countries. Meaning Dollar goes wayy out. Easily have a great life with anywhere from $500.00 to $1000.00 x month. included is, rent food and other amenities you might want. So don't listen to Brazil or Argentina They have this jealousy going on against Paraguay.

And the funny thing is that Brazil and Argentina are more horrible, full of crime, especially Brazil, which is full of favelas and drug traffickers. Here in Paraguay, many Brazilians end up in prison for drug trafficking and Argentinians steal in the streets.

Hello there, I was wondering, if I can share with you the most important thing ever. God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. Then He was put into a tomb for 3 days, after that Abba Father raised Jesus to life.He appeared to people, and went back to heaven. We all must sincerely receive Jesus into our life to be God's child. See John 1:12 for this please. Will you today genuinely by faith receive Jesus into your life for salvation?

Imagine if crime was just made legal by making it into a theme park type event... Those who want to do harm to others are hypnotized and allowed to experience in all aspects necessary for them to shift the want/need to being a productive social member. How many lifetimes can in one live in the time distortion...
