We met our daughter when her foster family went on a spring vacation without her, we were only supposed to have her for respite care for the week but We had the best time with her and she ended up moving into our home and 6 months later we got to adopt her.

That just completely breaks my heart. On the other hand I’m excited for Crystal and Aaron to experience all of the firsts with him 💜. I hope you all have an amazing trip!!

This really hit me hard. I was a foster child when I was 10. My foster family promised to take me with them on their family Disney trip with their 2 kids. On the car ride to the Disneyland trip, they stopped at one of their family members home and left me there. It was extremely traumatizing to be left with more strangers by myself and with a broken promise they made me. Now that I'm 41, it still hurts my heart to this day. I can't believe that there are people out there like this. As a child, I was already traumatized by being ripped out of my family's care. Then strangers playing with my emotions. So, I definitely know how Tristan felt. It's heartbreaking 💔.

I'm so sad for little Tristan, but so happy you can help heal his inner child and take him to Disney! As a teacher I think of the students I get for one or two years as MY KIDS, and most of them even have full loving families when they leave my care. I could NEVER imagine a child living with me and being a part of my every day life, and not wanting to include them on my vacation! Hugs to you all!

I freaking love you Aaron. ❤️🤣 Pro tip on packing. Start a list on your phone right when you book your trip. That way every time you think of something to pack, you immediately put it in the list. Then when you pack, it’s way easier. You just check everything off before you leave the house, and all set! Your family brings me so much joy! I love this trip you took. I absolutely love that Tristan has returned. He deserves all this love so much. ❤️

I went through a similar situation while in foster care. In the mornings when we would wake up for breakfast “my foster parents” would make homemade food for their bio kids and have us foster kids eat cereal.

As someone who grew up right by Disneyland, has gone a bazillion times, and who still LOVES Disneyland at almost 40, it made me cry hearing that Tristan got left behind during foster family trips and is getting to go to Disneyland for the first time! Makes me sooo happy knowing he’s getting to do stuff with you guys that he didn’t get to do as a kid ❤

I've heard that the foster care system has laws about not taking foster children out of state, or away from home for too long, or not being able to miss court-appointed meetings. Maybe that was the case with Tristan's other foster families not taking him on vacation with them? Just a thought. If it was their choice, however, they didn't need to be foster parents. Glad ya'll had fun!

Crystal. We did foster care for 2 brothers. We had a Disney trip plan before the boys. The boys had some Behavioral problems that might of had asked to leave Disneyland at any moment. Our counselor said until they knew how to be a part of the family that we should leave them at home. We did but the next summer we took both boys’

That is heartbreaking about Tristan, in my family (3 have kids) if we go on vacation everyone's invited but especially all kids are (recently became 5 after 2 recent nephews, I one and he's the oldest, but everyone's included) and at one point my sister actually took my nephew in as a 'foster' when she was young with a new baby and getting married, but nobody left behind in this family! My 9 yr old begs to go to Disneyland! I’m a single parent, I’ve been a teacher for 17 yrs and have a master’s degree and I still can’t afford to take her! I’m type 1 diabetic and all of my money goes toward insulin and medical supplies. It breaks my heart that due to a medical condition that I was born with, I can’t afford to do the one thing that she has begged to do. She never asks for anything and has the biggest heart of anyone that I’ve ever met. She also has an autoimmune disease and she’s never complained even when in pain. She’s just amazing! She even saved my life 2 yrs ago during a diabetic emergency. It’s sad that Disneyland has to have such ridiculous prices! I hope that one day I can make her dream come true.

I was a foster parent and took my kids to Disney. I adopted the two kids. But if u had not been able to I would have still taken to Disney. I never went to Disney as a child but took my kids and went. I also went to Disney by my self after I graduated from college it was my gift to my self.

My parents both dislike rollercoasters so we never went to theme parks BUT they made sure to go twice when we were on vacation with family friends who loved the roller coasters. So that we as kids could experience it and get on rides with adults (since they themselves didn’t go) and we also decided we didn’t like rollercoasters 😂 I’m glad they made sure to find a way for us to try it! Just as awesome as y’all taking Tristan to this trip :)

It's so nice to be able to offer Tristan the experience to go to Disneyland nearing his 30s. Not to defend the foster families/homes that didn't include him in their vacations, but perhaps there was a legal restriction to travel or a problem with identity/birth papers for minors? (As was the case with Aubrey). Nevertheless it's always painful to be excluded or left behind. Though it might also happen with bio family. E.g. when you have a disabled family member. But it looks like Tristan can catch up now. And the young adults can reconnect with their inner child. From the footage of the dishes in the restaurant, I think it is a Bao Dim Sum house. Cooking different small portions of Chinese/Asian cuisine comparable with Spanish tapas. The name refers to the genre of dish/snack. I'm sure you have these in Arizona, mostly at the Asian market. An extra girl ? = surprise guest! = Max's GF 😊

The Del Amo Mall back in the 80's used to be so much nicer.. unfortunately it isnt the same as it used to be, but i guess most aren't these days. Nice to know they have a nice restaurant in there now.

In the state where I live Foster parents must get court approval to take a foster child on vacation. If the child is not TPR the birth parents have a say about the decision of the child going on vacation with the foster family. We don't have all the facts about Tristan's foster experience so let's not judge the foster parents. I'm happy for him that he is getting the Disney experience now.

@@joyg2383 they could of explained it to him. Doesn’t matter it was his experience. Maybe it will teach other foster parents to do better. I live in nyc. I have personally deal with acs and foster parents because of the job I did. And I reported every single one of them and the workers too. One child had no clean clothes all full of pee, no bed sheets, blanket nothing! The case worker knew ! They didn’t even step into the home. Another child wasn’t one a case because it was the woman stepson and the father abuser it was DV case. The worker always called before coming! One day I am there and the father didn’t know I was there he slapped this child in the face so hard I thought he broke his jaw. I thought he was 8 years old because of his height he was 15 malnutrition. I had to testify in court.
