Ely is awesome! I was there 2 yrs ago and also visited the Ely charcoal kilns. Downtown Ely has a jailhouse casino steakhouse (its directly across the historic Hotel Nevada) in which your table is behind bars!! Its super cool and definitely a social media magnet for pictures. The downtown Ely strip and cool and they have their own version of the Hollywood walk of Fame with the stars. Neat fact: Stephen King has a star there and Ely was used as inspiration for his novel, Desperation

Robert, thank you for driving thru Ely Spent quite a few nights in the Hotel Nevada keeping my co-worker company in the bar (playing Penny video slots). We parked nearby where you could see the old jailhouse door. The sign said the old jail housed “Some of the Toughest Men in the West” I love that little town! Great memories there…

Glad you on Hwy 21 and not Hwy 50 heading east....Hwy 50 is a great ride through Utah but once you get past Grand Junction in Colorado on this hwy you might want to reconsider...Ya dont want to go over Monarch pass in your RV....Made that mistake once, never again...35MPH was the best we could do up that thing and it seemed like it took forever ...Worst and longest grade we have been on to date in the RV...I-70 through Colorado from now on, to heck with Hwy 50 in that state....Lookin forward to the next Utah adventure, stay safe and be well...

I am really looking forward to the rest of this trip. Some amazing territory you have and are coverning. I like your idea of US 50 from coast to coast. That is on my list too, along with US 6 and US 2 which also have a lot of appeal. US 2 mind you breaks between Northern Vermont and Sault Ste. Marie, but nonetheless. The Trans Canada Highway from Victoria BC to St. John's Newfoundland is also a beautiful run. I have done all of that one, although not all on the same trip. As long as we have an RV there is a new road to follow. Continued safe travels, and enjoy Spain.

Love your show Robert. Just curious as to what you have against clouds, though, haha. You often mention how it’s cloudy, like that’s a bad thing. You only like when it’s sunny? Those clouds on this episode in particular looked amazing, with that beautiful blue peering through.
@TravelingRobert4 ай бұрын
Thank you! The sun usually makes rock formations look better. Brings out all the textures.
@jontayyee34 ай бұрын
While I do agree with that, I also enjoy when the clouds create an entirely different atmosphere. So, sometimes the sun is great as the complimenting component, & sometimes the clouds are. Each have their own amazing charm, so I enjoy it either way. Anyways, thanks for the response, & please keep supplying us with this great show..
