Omgosh Mr. Robert you just solved a mystery for me. I wondered why they moved the Mock up Explorer to Houston. I never knew they put the Atlantis there. I got down to see that thing a few times. I happened to be there for the dedication of it in 1993 ( I won a trip from NASA at the same time ) so I felt a closeness to it. I was huffy when they moved it. LOL. So nice to know they replaced it with an actual one. Now I can go to NASA again without pouting lol.

My first assembly model was within months after the model kit for the Lunar Lander was released in the 1960's. lol Turned out all right for about an 8 year old kid with less than two hands. Traveled this 2nd weekend of Oct to the 55th National October Apple Harvest Festival at Biglerville, PA from west of Pittsburgh, PA. The PA JC's started it and run it every year. All kinds of Apple products of course mostly made "after you order". Indian Pow Wow, antique cars, wagon rides provided for parking and camping 4 to 5 miles away unless like my wife a JC Senator we camped for free on location.

The cultural aspects of Houston are legend, but I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado. I have lived in California, Alaska, and El Paso, Texas where mountains came up out of the desert to give the eye something to hang on to. While most people don't see it, most likely those prescription glasses are made from fossil fuels refined from the same stack of a refinery their gasoline is refined from. Along with their sneakers, shoe strings, socks, pants, underwear, shirts, and possibly their head gear. Literally clothing from the bottom of their feet to the top of their head is made from polymers. Many refined in Houston, Texas...

Hey Robert, I'm a new viewer and was wondering if you could purchased another RV would you consider a trunk camper for your pickup truck versus a travel trailer. What would you consider the advantages and disadvantages for your long journeys. I am contemplating either one as I half a half ton Nissan Frontier truck. Thanks.
@TravelingRobert5 жыл бұрын
I would have to look into that. Most half ton pickups are not recommended for truck campers. Mine says it in the manual. That being said, if I eve upgrade trucks I would consider it. They are great especially if you want to do some offroading or camping at more remote places.
@philc.92805 жыл бұрын
@@TravelingRobert Hi Robert, thanks for the quick reply. The new Lance truck campers are only less than 3000 lbs. The Frontier has a towing capacity of 6400 lbs so I am way under. I'm just researching what would be the best. I don't do off-roading but a lot of boondocking
@TravelingRobert5 жыл бұрын
@@philc.9280 With truck campers you have to take into consideration payload capacity not towing capacity. I did a quick search and the Frontier seems to max out at 1,460 pounds for payload capacity.
@philc.92805 жыл бұрын
@@TravelingRobert Thanks Robert for educating me. I see my payload capacity would max out so I would be limited to towing a lightweight travel trailer like yours. I see there are so many brands around 3000 lbs or less. Thanks again. Phil
@philc.92805 жыл бұрын
Sorry I have to complete this conversation and thought. So as I study the mechanics a truck camper weight would be solely on the axel of the truck whereas a travel trailers weight is on its own axel not on the truck so therefore you can pull a lot more weight than you can haul on the truck itself. Got it. Thanks. You have a new viewer!

I occasionally go to MD, Anderson hospital, so we stay in Houston. Good for you, you love cities. I hate them, and Houston is one of the more busy. I kind of hate it. We were staying at the hotel, and there was a CVS maybe 7 miles away. We had to take like 3 toll roads to get there. There are so many tolls in houston, that if you get a rental car, it always has the plates that let you pay the toll later. From the center of the city, I think we drove to that town, where there is a huge park, with a butterfly environment and an aquarium that we went to. From the center of the city, we drove in the car 45 minutes, and we still weren't out of the city area... It was city like and busy, with 3 or 4 lane highways the whole time! I like nature myself, so that wasn't fun for me.
