My wife enjoys your videos. She can hardly wait to to get to America to see what you have been showing everyone in your videos. She is from Gahana, and she wants to see the tis whole country. Guess I better buy an RV and show her our country. I was born here and been all over the country so It's all new for her. You have shown the country to her and now she wants to experience it for herself. So, you see you are the best international personality this country has. Lived here all my life but you bring it to life. Thank you so much.

I loved the North Dakota scenery when we traveled through on our way home from Kansas, back to Idaho. We also stopped at the Gates of the Mountains. Sadly, because it was October when we were there, the tourist season was over, so we were unable to take the ferry tour. I did manage to get some great photos, though.

I've been following this video and found a couple internet articles about it that I though might interest you. I've emailed the links to you. They might explain why there is only a small sign on Three Rivers Heritage Trail. The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, commemorating their journey, was established by Congress in 1978. It begins in Illinois, but now there’s a proposal to extend it eastward, to Pittsburgh. The Illinois start of the trail was probably associated with the time Lewis spent in Camp Dubois in Illinois prior to the start of the expedition. One of the articles explains the six week delay in the delivery of the keelboat. It also says that the supplies for the launch in Pittsburgh were sent by wagon from Harpers Ferry.

It looks like both Kentucky and Indiana are trying to claim the first meeting of Lewis and Clark. Kentucky claims they met on October 14 in Louisville, KY and Indiana claims they met at Falls of the Ohio, in Clarksville, IN on October 15th. Since Indiana put up a statue and made it a state park, they seem to have won the battle. The two locations are just across the Ohio River from each other.

Reminds me of: At the height of their TV fame, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz were contracted by MGM to make two theatrical films. The first of these, The Long, Long Trailer (1954), stars Lucy and Desi as an upwardly mobile couple who decide to buy a trailer so they can live together while his job takes him around the country. Thanks to their naivete in such matters, they end up with a huge, bulky RV that costs five times what they planned. Their "seeing America" trip turns out to be a slapstick disaster, topped by Lucy's foolish decision to hide a heavy rock collection in the trailer; as Desi tries to maneuver a treacherous mountain road, the weighted-down home-on-wheels.....

Is Sakakawea the same as Sacagawea? Sakakawea is the official spelling of her name in North Dakota, but other variations are used elsewhere, including Sacagawea and Sacajawea. There is some debate on the correct spelling, pronunciation and etymology of the name According to the phonetic spelling consistently recorded in the explorers' writings, Moulton said, Sacagawea - a woman who aided Lewis and Clark on their journey across the uncharted western part of the United States - should be pronounced "sah-KAH-gah-wee-ah". So there's that ;-{)
