The hostile ant-African reaction of Wode Maya's classmate after being called an African, used to be such a common reaction! Africans coming to live or study in America used to routinely experience this hostility from African Americans all the time. It was usually the small number of 'conscious' African Americans that were friendly towards Africans. It is so beautiful and refreshing to see the positive growing changes!

I want to meet you both one day before I leave this earth. I am one of those African Americans who met her African husband back in 2018 and we married this year in February 2021 in Uganda 🇺🇬. Uganda will be my forever home but I've had to return to the states so we can both work towards our retirement in Africa. If you would've asked me 4 years ago if I would have ever had the desire to even visit Africa.. The answer would've been no. I was becoming enlightened 9 months prior to meeting my husband online. It's not about the African governments not wanting to embrace the diaspora. It's more about them fearing that they are a threat to their interests. This is also true of the Haitian government not allowing their diaspora to do much in their country. Their diaspora is worth north of $80 billion dollars and could easily develop Haiti. Yet, the oligarchs and politicians there see them as a threat to their privileges.

#wodemaya is speaking volumes, I'm from Chicago, and came straight to Tanzania, only because of the restrictions in the west, my experience here sucks, the diaspora, there is no community, unless you paying a diaspora or you have a blog, for any information, my landlord tried to extort my rent money, after I paid in advance, because some arabics offered her more money, went to the police for help, of course they stuck together and sided with her, I tried networking with the local sisters, they treat me like I'm a threat to them, my light is not excepted here, I must take my light somewhere else, because Tanzania is not it, I can't open a business without making a Tanzania who can't afford to put on for the business, my business partner and the local gets 51 percent and I only get 49 percent, #wodemaya what investment ideas you have, I'm seeking generational wealth?

I just did an interview and was telling the girl the same thing about West Africa. It gives this "homecoming" vibe. I also lived in Sierra Leone for 3 months and there is a lot of diaspora there. I was surprised too. But Sierra Leone is one of the African nations that provide citizenship to diaspora with DNA testing.

I read somewhere that Jamaica is about 60% Akan. Jamaica is close to Jeremie, Haiti where the people are known for Fufu and look Ghanaian. They call it Tomtom. The word Fufu is actually used in the north of Haiti.

My first time meeting an African who was an exchange student (from then Zaire) attending Seattle University in 89' while I was serving in the U.S. Army (Ft Louis) was an immediate friendship. This information goes to those diasporas who thought East African region is the most developed part in Africa.. first and foremost Africa has more than two regions, we have west Africa, North Africa, Central Africa, east Africa, and Southern Africa, so guys stop comparing west and east Africa as if they are the only regions in Africa.... It would be a hasty assumptions to think that the East is better than the west ? For your information, west Africans have three of their countries in top ten largest economies in Africa, Nigeria in number one position, Ghana in number eight position and Ivory Coast in number ten position ,.. East Africa has only one country in the list, that’s Kenya in number six position... what are the indices used to determine the standard of living of a country? That’s the human development index, and Ghana which is a west African country is ahead of any East African country in human development index..moreover, both Ghana and Nigeria have better gdp per capita than any other East African countries... Sist, Ghana is also the second most peaceful country in Africa, in fact the streets of Accra is safer than Nairobi.... by the way, countries like Congo, Cameroon, chad, Central African Republic, and Equatorial Guinea are Central African countries, so they are not west African countries.

If you look at the actual records most enslaved in the transatlantic slave trade came from west and west central Africa. Approximately 1 million people came from Mozambique and Madagascar but a vast majority from west Africa. DNA gives you a mixed message since people have migrated throughout the continent of Africa over time such as the Bantu migration. The East African slave trade didn’t necessarily bring people to the Americas and was largely separate from the transatlantic slave trade.

West Africa is definitely more underdeveloped compared to east Africa. It’s definitely not for the faint of heart. Tanzania and Kenya are more developed and the locals are less aggressive.

What a hasty assumptions? For your information, west Africans have three of their countries in top ten largest economies in Africa, Nigeria in number one position, Ghana in number eight position and Ivory Coast in number ten position ,.. East Africa has only one country in the list, that’s Kenya in number six position... what are the indices used to determine the standard of living of country? That’s the human development index, and Ghana which is a west African country is ahead any East African country in human development index..moreover, both Ghana and Nigeria have better gdp per capita than any other East African countries... bro, Ghana is also the second most peaceful country in Africa, in fact the streets of Accra is safer than Nairobi.... by the way, countries like Congo, Cameroon, chad, Central African Republic, and Equatorial Guinea are Central African countries, so they are not west African countries.

Both sides are beautiful. Ultimately it’s what makes yu feel more comfy. If yu want to be close to western style Go East. If yu want to experience more traditional African go West.
