Still listening to this in 2024 and still in awe of how great each of these artists were and are. To have them perform together for a short time as the Travelling Wilburys was pure music gold. Hard to believe that only Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan remain alive today of this wonderful troupe. The songs of George, Roy, Tom, Bob and Jeff and their legacies have and will remain long after them.

it's funny, the brief smile i notice is when George smiles after saying the line, babe your adorable. i felt that was him keeping it lite and whimsical as a beetle as many of their songs were. the smile is so short you barely see it but its priceless.

I saw Petty in Concert 17 times. I was also lucky enough to go to the same college as his daughter and she gave me 4th row seats and I went backstage and smoked pot with her in his dressing room. I saw Dylan when he used to get pissed at the audience but he was still awesome. To the Petty family, love and respect.❤

B Miller ......an astute (and perfectly accurate) observation and a lovely comment. I’m old enough to remember Roy’s personal tragedies, he said his music helped him “cope”. Even throughout Roy’s musically “lean” years, the man was *always* loved in Australia and toured here often. Despite not having released new material much less enjoyed a “Hit” song in many years, his concerts invariably sold out and I think that speaks volumes.

The way this band was formed was so organic. It was just three of them chilling ( Harrison, Lynne and Orbison ) around a meal, then they go to Bob Dylan's studio because George was going to record a song there, but suddenly he remembers his guitar is at Tom Petty's house so he goes there and while he picks it up he invites Tom over. Over time George Harrison has become my favorite Beatle. He was a silent force within the legendary band and he brought people together like no one else.

For everything George had to endure being in the others shadow, it was usually him that brought everyone together to keep the band recording. Like bringing in Eric Clapton when the others wouldn’t get their act together on while my guitar gently weeps, or bringing in Billy Preston to the Let it Be sessions to get the guys to stop messing around and get back to making music. He meant so much to the Beatles.

@@Cruiserweight190 Nope, not if you believe the Bible: Ecc 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Ecc 9:6 Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. No jamming either--this is notwithstanding either the first or second resurrection--the second means eternal death--the first means eternal life in the new earth. But to have this, one must make Jesus Christ first, last and best in everything--none of these people were Christians that I know of. We have Hare Krishna George Harrison (My Sweet Lord) and I know nothing about the rest of them. However, Jesus said, "Take up your cross and Follow Me" meaning one gives everything to Him, leaving most rock-n-rollers completely out of the picture...it's not worth it. Mat_16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? (Jesus Christ, 31 AD).

It's too bad Roy Orbison wasn't around for the second album, but I'm still so glad this supergroup happened. An incredible lineup of musicians, who really worked well together. A testament to tremendous talent and not so tremendous egos, I think. Roy Orbison may be the best male pop/rock singer of all time. Check out Traveling Wilbury's - Not Alone Anymore for an example of what he could do.

This song reminds me about my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battling to cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, and I never miss a moment with her, life could be so unfair most times, there is some pain, I will cry in vain but won’t let you know how I will feel yes, I will miss you to the core! but some times i wonder why bad thing always happen to good people. She’s always in our hearts.
