Whenever I think about the Traveling Wilburys, I think about the warm voices of George Harrison and Jeff Lynne, the warbling harmonies of Tom Petty and Bob Dylan, and of Roy Orbison’s voice hovering over all of theirs like an angel’s.

Still listening to this in 2024 and still in awe of how great each of these artists were and are. To have them perform together for a short time as the Travelling Wilburys was pure music gold. Hard to believe that only Jeff Lynne and Bob Dylan remain alive today of this wonderful troupe. The songs of George, Roy, Tom, Bob and Jeff and their legacies have and will remain long after them.

No worries, it's all good. I just revisited this after hearing the music segment on NPR this morning which closed with "End of the Line" because the reporter noted the Wilburys were his favorite "Alter-Ego group." However, I personally was never aware of the 'supergroup's existence until 1993 when, listening to WNEW here in NYC at work, Scott Muni regularly played them. But the fact is these hits came out in the fall of 1988, so even I was five years behind the times! Anyway, it's very bittersweet watching this knowing just Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne remain. We were truly blessed (thanks to Harrison) that these five amazing talents came together and gave us this.

B Miller ......an astute (and perfectly accurate) observation and a lovely comment. I’m old enough to remember Roy’s personal tragedies, he said his music helped him “cope”. Even throughout Roy’s musically “lean” years, the man was *always* loved in Australia and toured here often. Despite not having released new material much less enjoyed a “Hit” song in many years, his concerts invariably sold out and I think that speaks volumes.

Hard to believe that Jeff Lynn and Bob Dylan are the only members of the TW's who are still with us. Harrison, Orbison, and Petty left us much too soon. This kind of 'patchwork quilt' of musicians was highly underrated, yet it was comprised of some of the most talented musicians that this world has ever seen, or ever will see. I have a female soprano voice that can sing a huge range and I tried to sing along to Roy's songs and even with female soprano voice, his high notes at the end of songs ling Crying and Only The Lonely and Blue Bayou were a bit of an effort to reach comfortable, but he does these notes so smoothly, effortlessly. They just float,so naturally. I don't normally go for the male tenor voice, especially singing modern stuff, though don't mind it for classical music. But his is so fine, so lofty and yet oh so masculine powerful, too. Incredible voice. Love it!

Me too unfortunately.I would love to be able to trust someone again as I crave a soul mate to enjoy my experiences of my life with theirs .Not going to happen at 71 but still an old hippie at heart, just want to be appreciated warts and all .🤔👏👏

@@ulrichfivek9878 Thanks for that Ulrich. When you get older and have all that fabulous history of your life behind you its difficult to encompass the new but I have never given up on new music and the link between old and new .As Saliari said ,"There are too many notes"I beg to differ.I will always love my music but finding someone who isn't stuck in a music era that never moves on is very difficult.I just know that if there is someone out there ,looking for a complete extrovert from the hippie and onward era ,they will find me in the great complex threads of our universe. If not ,then I will just be happy with my love of my foregone life and thanks that I was a part of the network that created it for historic value .Enjoy what may be in store for us all a with anticipation and look backwards with love and peace We are all part of history to come .Namaste and Peace to you.Xxxx

I don’t know if you realize, this is one of the all time acts of art. comradeship, empathy, yearning, achievement. George Harrison wasn’t recognized properly by John and Paul band leaders. This track seems a deeply significant song for George. He has many signature songs.
