It’s because Hoyoverse (unwisely) decided to make the MC generally mute in the game where Paimon is his/her microphone. I wish whatever dialog bubble we choose for the MC when playing a voiced quest is actually spoken by Zach/Sarah. i feel so disconnected with the MC in voiced quests because he/she doesn’t actually speak or only speaks so so so so rarely.

@@funoniziedej1851 you do know that having the choice to choose which twin we play as has made it harder to get voices parts because the game is voices in 4 languages they would have to record the same line twice for 4 languages and then implement it into the game. That’s a lot of time, money and extra work on the team’s part. Sometimes it wouldn’t kill you guys to be a bit more considerate. But I will admit they could’ve given the traveler a bit more voiced sections.

@@blossomfederation4781 it isn’t an issue of consideration. it’s a matter of implementation for good characterizations of the game. it is very non-immersive when the MAIN CHARACTER who is the primary center figure of the game is silent most of the time. Voice acting affects how a character is developed. I’d rather have 10 NPCs be silent with their dialogs than have the MAIN CHARACTER be mute.

Honestly, I don't quite get why he is THIS silent in game. He only ever shouts "VENTI!" once and besides that his diaologue is only answer-texts. The "Portray yourself"-thing makes no sense because his answers still have tons of personality as well as his facial expressions and body language. On top of that... So many voice clips...

It's a combination of the "Self-Insert Principle" and the fact that the Traveller has TWO VAs. It's much more cost effective to have the Traveler be silent in cutscenes than have the game use one of two voices that depend on the character you pick at the start of the game. Not to mention, giving the Traveler their own voice would break the fantasy that "The Traveler is the player", which is useless since most people don't even apply that to their own gameplay.

In one of his voice lines he says that since him and lumine were the same age they would decide things with rock paper scissors. First of all... those "calculations" doesn't add up - if Diluc's #2 or #3, why did you counted out three different people? Also, don't forget about Varka - Ordo Favonius' Grand Master. According to different Knights of Favonius, he's the strongest of the Order - Jean and Barbara are certain that nothing will endanger expedition with him on the lead, Eula recalled how he tied with her, while being completely relaxed and loosened up against ever-serious her, Tartaglia claims how he wishes to face him one-on-one, and Diluc... is outright afraid of him. Also, his physical proweness is close to that of Capitano - Harbinger #4 (once rumored to be #2) and strongest mortal in Teyvat. If that isn't enough... I don't know what is.
