This time we are going to walk in wooden neighbourhood called Karlova in the city of Tartu, Estonia. Not every city has old wooden architecture preserved as in here. We know examples from nordic countries where blocks of old houses were replaced with modern buildings.
Some of the houses along the walk are renovated, some are not but you are definitely going to get some glimpse of how people used to live in cities in Estonia 100 years ago and even more. It was period when people moved in to those wooden houses from country side. Karlova was not the only area popular 100 - 120 years ago, there were similar places in other Estonian cities as well.
Today this is relatively quiet neighbourhood with only some cars moving during weekends. Workdays have bigger traffic but nevertheless this area is relatively quiet comparing to other streets in Tartu.
