What an entertainer Slim was and he is and always will be so sadly missed. There is one thing I am so pleased about, that is that they now have a bust of Joy McKean at Tamworth. Joy never got the accolades she deserved as an absolutely brilliant song writer, the only credit she really ever got was that she was Slims wife, and was happy playing that role. Good on you Joy and God bless you

I can remember watching Slim's funeral on tv and starting to cry as they brought the coffin out to this with everyone clapping along :( ... even now, it will still reduce me to tears, depending on my mood.

Thanks for your comments. I was in Australia for three weeks back in 2001 and just loved the wide open spaces. Uluru was magic. I hope to get back there again in a few years time when I retire for an extended break. I have a first cousin living in Bundaberg in Queensland.
