The locomotive leading was a General Electric P42DC, which are being phased out because they're 20+ years old now and the passenger cars you rode in are Siemens Venture, which are replacing the Amfleet and Horizon cars 40-50 years old! Great to see another train video from you. You honestly should go railfanning soon and something new to your channel, which means more subscribers, likes, and viewers.

Sturevant may be a pain to board as seen by those people rushing to cross island, as trains may switch platforms without warning, but I would advise those boarding at that station, wait on the bridge over the tracks, not on the platform. It’s quicker, and you can see your train sooner. If you’re flying out of Chicago, or Milwaukee, or just visiting one of the cities, park your car there, $7 for 30 days. Can escape Chicago traffic, and is really cheap! Try it! If you take my advice, you won’t regret it!

The Train Yard was for Metra Chicago's Commuter Rail Service. They operate from 4 Downtown Chicago Terminals. The Milwaukee District North Line which Amtrak Hiawatha and Empire Builder follows until Roundout when Milwaukee District North Line turns Northwest to go to Fox Lake. The Milwaukee District West Line also follows the same Amtrak Lines and Metra Lines along with The North Central Service which goes to Antioch and has a connection to O'Hare Airport at O'Hare Transfer goes to Elgin and Big Timber Road. But in the near future Metra is extending The Milwaukee District West Line all the way up to Rockford so once that happens it will be the longest Metra Line. The BNSF Line operates from Union Station to Aurora and it's Metra's busiest Line. It's also unique that The BNSF Railroad operates it while Metra supplies the equipment and fares. The Southwest Service goes from Union Station to Manhattan (not the NYC Borough). The last Line that goes into Union Station is The Heritage Corridor which goes to Joliet and follows the old Illinois and Michigan Canal and it's replacement The Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal. It's Metra's least operated Line. The Heritage Corridor only operates one way in The Rush Hour so in the morning it only goes into Union Station and the afternoon out of Union Station. But coincidentally Metra has another Line that goes to Joliet but from a different Terminal. If you go to The LaSalle Street Station just off of The Loop L you can take The Rock Island District and it will take you to Joliet and it operates more often than The Heritage Corridor does. If you go to Millennium Station you can take Metra Electric which is one of two Lines that has Branches. The main Branch goes to University Park just outside of Governor's State University. The other branches goes to either East 93rd Street or Blue Island Vermont Street which you can transfer to The Rock Island District to continue to Joliet if you wanted to. Also at Millennium Station is The South Shore Line the world's last operating interurban railroad. It typically ends at Michigan City at Carroll Avenue but some trains go all the way to South Bend Regional Airport. It used to go into South Bend but it was moved to the airport for some reason I don't remember. There are some plans for The South Shore Line to return into South Bend but they're still planning it. Right now they're building The West Lake Branch which should be completed by sometime next year and they just finished a Double Track Project between Gary Indiana and Michigan City and they just recently finished The Track Separation Project in Michigan City. The South Shore Line operated in the middle of the street in Michigan City so they ended it and separated the tracks and Double Tracked it and made the 11th Street Station accessible to people with disabilities. It got mixed reactions because of how unique The South Shore Line is including myself. The last terminal that Metra uses is Ogilvie Transportation Center (locally known as The Northwestern Station). The Metra Union Pacific North Line which goes to Waukegan mostly but some trains go all the way into Wisconsin to Kenosha making it the only Metra Line that goes outside the state of Illinois. The Union Pacific West Line also goes from Ogilvie Transportation Center to Elburn a farming area out West. And the last Metra Line is also currently the longest Metra Line and the second busiest Line is The Union Pacific Northwest Line. It also has a Branch which similar to The Heritage Corridor only operates during The Rush Hour one way. It goes to McHenry. The main Branch goes to Harvard Illinois a community that isn't exactly a suburb but a community that benefits from having a connection to Downtown Chicago and the other suburbs in the northwest area.
