My parents knew people on Corfu (They had a private beach) and I was there when I was about 10 years old. Unspoiled, pristine beaches with lots of fish, urchins, olive groves everywhere stacked in terrasses, donkeys just walking around and great food. Very friendly people. Water so clear you could snorkel out to 100 m out and still see the bottom and all the fish. And only Greeks and the occasional British diplomat around. Unspoiled. With lots of history. I feel so lucky to have seen this beautiful island unspoiled.
