Wow…is this video a breath of fresh air or what? Beautiful scenery, bright blue skies, fluffy clouds, cheerful narrowboaters, great commentary & still photography. Shangri-la! Yes, good to see new build developers have left the Oxford alone for the most part. Preserving the views “from” the canal rather than creating more “of” the canal. Thanks for sharing it all with us, Kevin!

Not wishing to sound all wanky and all, but I believe the description for what you’ve been feeling, going about your daily boating business, if you weren’t aware, is what they call being “in flow”, which as a mediative state is extremely good for you, where you just are. Being at one with your actions. In a constant perfect state of action, movement and flow which you described wonderfully, at one with your universe. Sorry if I’m teaching you to suck eggs. But I’d say you’ve reached a perfect state. Nice one, Kev. Some lovely photography too. You certainly have a great eye!

A good photographer can use the most basic tools and still get a good shot. Just as a good artist can use a cheap set of paints and do a stunning painting. The painting won’t last as long but with a digital camera, that issue is moot. Not that I want to initiate this overlong debate as I am an artist, and a poor photographer. My husband, however, was a skilled photographer who would wax philosophically on the benefits of having absolute control of aperture that quickly resolved any insomnia I might have been suffering. Stunning shots throughout this video and I appreciated every one of them. Thank you for making a miserable day much much better!

Thank you for another great video and for prompting a memory from my past. In 1981 I saw The Who in Birmingham. I bought a package that included a concert ticket and a coach ride to the show. It turned out to be a coach full of Air Force troops. I remember the whole bus load of us singing this song during the ride. Because we were all drinking, there came a point where a bathroom stop was required. The driver just stopped on the side of the road. Most of us exited the coach and all lined up, basically shoulder to shoulder, along the edge of the road and relieved ourselves in the ditch. As we did a woman came along walking her dog. I didn't hear her say anything. However, when i saw her face she was smiling ear to ear. All I could hear was about 40 young men laughing as they stood draining themselves.
