I am a 70 year old white woman and my mother braided my hair everyday until I was about 8. My brother loves to remind me that they were called pigtails. I dont know why cause pigs have curly hair and my hair will not curl unless I go to a specialist who knows how to perm this kind of hair. It takes twice as long and costs 4 times as much and lasts about 1 month. But I also know about black hair because I envied people with curly hair. In our present Era of braids and wigs I have one thing yo tell black women that they have not noticed. Black women are just as beautiful with short hair as they are with braids and wigs. Know that. It's truth that comes from inside you.
