OMG Peter!! Best episode ever! I loved this so much. How can I begin?? You started out with such a wonderful portrayal of you and your lovely girlfriend together on two different boats (seriously? Most of us dream of living on one boat…!) and then you’re picking her up after she goes trail running?! Stop. Do you realize how lucky you are? She’s a keeper. And then it’s back to work. I love love love the episodes where you do a haul out. This one is no exception. M/V Zephrus is such an elegant vessel. So glad to see her given some time and attention and well deserved maintenance. And bravo at your painting work last time she was hauled out looking so good. The scenes of Lady Zephrus working on her boat are fantastic. She’s an amazing woman for sure. You’re so lucky to have a woman who loves you (your gf) and also a good female friend you can both be close to. And on top of that you get to mess about with boats! I’m very happy for you. Cheers!

Thank goodness for electric sanders. The anniversary was a bit of a wakeup. I have been watching this channel slightly longer than the 7 years. I started watching because of the Argosy you were restoring. How time flies. Haven't done the word of the week in a very long time. "Home is the boat you are on at the moment, even if it is out of the water." Still love the channel, the subject matter, the people old and new and of course the dogs.

I can not believe I have been watching you for 6 years! It seems much longer, only kidding it does not seem that long. A testament to your film making skills. Keep up the good work. All I need to do now is find myself an old boat. But I do prefer old solid fiberglass and sail.

Could you please say what the model of your Bosch sander is and what disc's etc. (for me 1 May 1988 my full time live aboard life started with Sea Prince. I’m enjoying your videos a great deal. Love your no nonsense approach and the top notch results. I’ve had a lifetime of sanding things for a living. That Bosch is one of my favourites. Very efficient and powerful. What is the condition of the fastenings when you remove them? Just rusted on the heads? Thanks for your efforts, cheers Chris.

I watch videos of people docking, launching and recovering their boats onto trailers at a few boat rams and than see you maneuver these boats with such finesse and wonder why can't those others do so well? Than I realize, you don't trailer those boats, but I'm sure if you did, it would be done with the same amount of finesse. ;-) The lack of "bleeders" is proof of how well you repair and maintain this (and likely the other) boats?

I really enjoy your content and all the builds and maintenance tips including the wire cable in the drill chuck for cleaning the bungs out of the hull but please use some form of eye protection it can happen so quickly and wearing a eye patch isn't as cool as it looks. Sorry for being a Safety Sally but I've seen it happen.

The boat looks fantastic, well done! Is there a reason why SS fasteners aren't used so you don't have to deal with the rusting "bleeders"? Also, how long can you have the wood boat out of water before it dries out too much?
@mySeaPrince5 ай бұрын
It really depends on the type of wooden boat, material's, its history and what it has been treated with. Some are taken out for 4 to 6 months during the winter.. For my boat 1 to 2 weeks is my preference.
@Saltchuck-465 ай бұрын
Bronze is a better solution than stainless steel for fastening wooden boats. Stainless steel is subject to crevice corrosion in that environment.
