Estadio Centenario | Uruguay's Football Museum | First World Cup Stadium | Centennial Stadium

In Montevideo, Uruguay, we visited Estadio Centenario or Centennial Stadium and its Museo del Futbol - the Football Museum in Uruguay's football stadium built for the first World Cup. Not only can you see the stadium, the museum has football memorabilia from past World Cup teams and players including the great Pele to todays Luis Suarez. Even for non-football fans, it was great to see the items in the museum. For football or soccer fans, it's a must-see!

So cool to see a real football stadium, wow! It's absolutely huge. This would be absolutely an amazing experience to see in person. Loved learning about it too and seeing the museum. So much history behind football that I didn't realize. Cool to see the old trophies and old equipment, like on shirt with blood on it haha ouch! One of those trophies are huge! What a cool place for a football fan to see! Thanks for sharing with us :)

This ain't real football! 🏈 LOL. Just kidding. Jack grew up playing football ⚽ for years - not American football. So he is really into World Cup. The stadium looks impressive. And the museum has a lot of cool memorabilia. Thanks for taking us along!

Ha ha ha. Actually, I'd agree and Steve and I actually pay extra to see all the NFL games....but most of the world wouldn't! I really only watch World Cup matches so this museum was interesting. The big cities we visited all had huge stadiums and crazy fans! (Sounds a bit like NFL...). Thanks so much for watching.

It was built in 1900 so it is a relic, but I thought I read it was still in use. It's a beautiful stadium.
