What a great video! I lived 20 south of Meadville for 26 years when the Meadville store was open and thriving. Our kids grew up going to Meadville on Sundays to play in the river at the Meadville park. Then after getting all tired and wet, we'd go to the Meadville Store and have a pop and a burger. Meadville is the best place ever. It is now closed and possibly for sale. Someone needs to purchase it and reopen it!

Thanks for the video. That is indeed the original Meadville General Store and Post Office. I never got to see it in person, but my father-in-law was raised to adulthood in it, and his parents were probably the last Postmasters there. He and my mother-in-law kept an old photo of it in on the wall of the den in their home, where we all enjoyed hundreds of cookouts and wonderful family get-togethers. They both passed away a while back, and this video brought a flood of great memories.

Love your videos on Nebraska as a resident! at 7:55, you're correct! Those are old tornado shelters built right into the ground. Most small towns, or even homesteads would have one cause you would lose your house if a tornado went over you. They also double as an underground cooler for canned foods. One thing though.... Niobrara River = "nie-uh-brair-uh"

Got a kick out of your hesitation in that last clip about going down into the tornado shelter. Made me think of the song"Should I Go or Should I Stay". Do not know if that is the title or just a verse in the song. But sometimes animals or even what use to be classified as a hobo just may be holed up down there. You just never know. Thanks for another great trip out into the country!

Nice I like Seneca better! The abandoned exercise equipment is from birthdays and christmas! You go fishing and camping load them up and when you get back your wife who bought the equipment asked where they at! Just say you donated them to the Brocksburg activity center! Bet they got a closet full of ladies pink dumbells! You know the ones your wife leaves on the carpet, and you stub your toes on every morning!
