Longtime ago someone commented in one of my videos, that why don't you cover the North East, isn't a part of India?? I really felt that comment and planned for a trip covering all 7 sisters, Assam,Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram,Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland and Tripura. Unfortunately I couldnt cover Mizoram this time.
In this series you will see the transportation system of North Eastern states as there are many difficulties there (due to terrain). I have tried to cover the Goverment buses of all states, the trains and some flights for a amazing scenic view. Get to know about North East in this amazing series.

Superb... I used to travel from Guwahati to Silchar for almost 16 years. Some of the prominent players in private bus service were- Capital, Network, Blue hills. Jagannath was a new entry then around the year 2000. ASTC buses were considered tp be the best. Earlier ISBT was not there, so Paltan bazar ASTC stand was home to all interstate buses. I remember the employees of ASTC were friendly and keeps us informed, although there were natural calamities such as land slides. But they were not like what was today's observation. Might be situation deteriorated. Trains were again helpful. Earlier it was metre gauge. But now all are converted to broad gauge

Hi Yupp those were old days..I used to travel from Panchgram to Guwahati where my relatives lived and also those days there were no broad gauge railway track..So Guwahati was the station to be to go anywhere..Those windy roads the scare of sonapur hilly roads vomiting sometimes initially stopover at Umkiang...Yupp..Miss them

Brother I am a frequent traveller from guwahati to silchar and the road traffic landslides are very common as my experience. If meghalaya and assam govt fix the road then also the next day again landslides and all will happen Thank you

This is the sad condition of the Silchar road connectivity. Poorly maintained highways filled with overloaded trucks which remain unchecked because the cops are too busy cashing money from the truckers, they take money from the buses too. There are 4 tolls between Guwahati and Silchar but they don't bother to maintain or fix the bad patches on a timely basis. You'll see some new patches in between but they barely last for few months. Even fairly new buses on this route are in poor conditions because of the terrible roads. And talking about ISBT, it's one of the worst in the whole region. This is the plight of the road travelers here.

100% right. I m an inhabitant of Assam and never find Shilling-Silchar HW without worst injuries. Also due to political reasons Meghalaya is burning.Safety and security of passengers/tourists has become a matter of tension. Arunachal Pradesh is peaceful,safe and most attractive for the tourists in all respects......

@@RajendraSingh-pw7ig True, they just keep collecting toll and do nothing about the condition of the road. I just recently travelled through this stretch and it was tiring. About time the state/center intervenes are questions the pathetic condition of this road.

Shillong to Jowai is a scenic drive especially first 2 hours from Shillong . In fact possibly more beautiful than Guwahati to Shillong route. It's a pity that you didn't capture the scenery of Shillong to Jowai road. This was a big let down. Do capture it on your next visit. Keep up the good Som, Budh ya Shukkar🥰 ISBTs seem to have become havens for Cab drivers to fleece passengers. There should be 24*7 frequent local bus connectivity from ISBT to City & vice versa at economical fares.

Bhai mai bhi Assam dist karimganj se hai Mujhe 1 baat accha laga Silchar ISBT ka bare main bataya, or MTC service ka bare bataya bohut accha laga agar tura video banatha to to hamara jo bora bora A/C Car main gumne wala log hai unko turi dikta. Or Truck ka bare main jo bataya wo agar train de dange to unka truck kaise cholega or app ane ka time jaise deka trafic oh nahi lage ga to iha Barak velly main business man bikari ho jayenge. Not correct. Megh means cloud is right . But Aloya means home or abode .So Meghalaya means home or abode of clouds. I was in Shillong from 1948 to 1977.
