Glad you took that road. I am from Silchar and have grown up traveling on these road. Please take the train from Silchar to Guwahati and halt at Haflong, Assam's only hill station. You will love the experience

The entire video was amazing to watch, and those 360⁰ captures from the front corner of the bus were very good ❤ Network Travels, indeed, is the largest bus operator of NE India. Network se travel karne mein ek baat ka confirmation rehta hai ke bus agar kisi karanwash breakdown bhi ho jaye toh doosri koyi na koyi bus available rehti hai. Also, Meghalaya mein Mendipathar Railway Station se Guwahati tak regular passenger train chalti hai. Toh M'laya bhi railway se already connect ho chuka hai. NE mein bus journeys har kism ke karne ko mil jayengi, from luxurious business class type to ekdam khatara local buses tak 😂 Jisme chahe journey kar lo, aur content banate raho. ❤

That Sairang bridge collapsed yesterday and about 17/18 people lost their lives on the spot and many injured 😢 I am from Silchar, Assam

I used to visit Aizawl way back in 1988/ 90. Used to travel by Capital Travels Bus from their stand opposite Hotel Nandan, Paltan Bazar. ISBT wasn't in existence then and renowned bus operators like Blue Hill Travels & Capital Travels both had their main bus stands in the area. Trip used to be overnight Bus from Gauhati (spelt thus then) to Silchar via Shillong and then another overnight bus journey from Silchar to Aizawl with day halt at Silchar. We needed an Inner Line Permit to visit Mizoram which was issued at Gauhati/ Guwahati. Road from Shillong to Silchar through Cachar Hills was prone to landslides. Alternatively used to take a Vayudoot Airlines flight (small Dornier STL, Short Take Off & Landing Turboprop aircraft) from Silchar to Aizawl. There was this small airstrip near Aizawl ringed by mountains where only smaller aircrafts could land. Construction of the current airport at Lengpui which could accommodate Boeing, Airbus etc was in progress. This flight often used to get cancelled due to sudden bad weather around Aizawl. In fact a couple of times we took off from Silchar, flew for 45 minutes and were turned away from Aizawl back to Silchar due to sudden bad weather near Aizawl. I used to stay in Hotel Ritz which was possibly in Bara Bazar, Aizawl. The hotel was owned by a beauracrat and was operated by his son. They were very welcoming. I used to travel to Aizawl on work and truly enjoyed the hospitality there. Have fond memories of a New Year's Eve Party at the Hotel where I was cordially invited by the Hotel owners. Remember, they used to call young men/ women as Kappu/ Kappi. Have wonderful memories of Aizawl. Thanks Soumit for the episode❤ Liquor was prohibited in Mizoram but bootlegged stuff was available from the servicemen quota on the sly. Aizawl was a picturesque quaint little town buzzing with Maruti 800 cabs and had a pleasant climate with welcoming & friendly people. Would love to revisit Aizawl sometime soon🥰 I'm from Calcutta/ Kolkata but was posted in Gauhati then. The Mizo gentleman from Aizawl who had the sole travel agency of Indian Airlines then (sole domestic airlines back in the day) was an associate mine & was very cordial. Taxes in Mizoram were much less and hence I bought a Titan wristwatch ⌚ from Aizawl at much lower price than rest of the country. Still have the watch and it works😊 Mizoram is a beautiful state with warm & welcoming people. We should visit Mizoram and promote tourism. It has so much to offer😍🌄

My major worry while doing road travel is the availability and accessibility of toilets. This is one area that the state must pay attention and ensure that the roadside outlets, such as Restauarants, Fuel Stations at least provide these rest stops for the road using travelers.

In around 40 years ago i was in aizawl for 2 years . 2024 road conditions are very poor still now . Feels sorry . Central govt should do to improve roads . Our poor aizawl . Look's like foreign countries road condtion . Brother thanks for this horrific trip.
