gotta respect a guy that builds his lists having historical/narrative facts in mind and not just pure game points
@arkenhemnall62242 жыл бұрын
Yeah 100%. Whether playing 40k, Bolt Action or whatever I prefer to go with the narrative where possible. Obviously tweaking to give you guys an in game bump to keep them competitive, but taking lists of Germans, for instance, that are drowning in STG44s, Panthers and all the rest of it all the time just doesn't feel right to me. I even vetoed the 88mm being able to fore indirectly because to me it's a direct fire weapon like a huge rifle. I've seen a vid on KZbin with the guy saying that players tend to list buikd 2 ways; one is around the fluff and scenario, the other is to max the list in an attempt to win the game before it's even started. I'm defo much more about the narrative.

I get a kick out of all your videos and appreciate the challenge of taking scenario rules from different books to make things more playable. Of course things boil down to the order dice pulls and die rolls. The terrain always looks great!

Thanks for including an MMG team. Although its not a popular choice, I always try to include it on every army list I play. Great job on the video fellas. You guys are awesome.

Awesome game! 4/5! I'd give it a higher score, but I still flinch whenever I see a pace stick.

Great to see this game. Historically to attack successfully any strong point an attacker needs to be at a 3 to 1 numerical advantage. In this case you'd need to concentrate your whole force on one side and take out each enemy unit one at a time. But yeah at a 30% increase it's not enough, especially with a relatively open playing board and having to run the length of it into staggered defenders that are just waiting to shoot you as you do all the hard work moving to them (so you have movement shooting penalties plus moving into their full then close ranges) keep the scenarios coming, great stuff 👍🏻

Great batrep! I think the americans still had a chance, albeit a very small one. I'm not a fan of the outflank rules for BA though, I think a minimum distance to enemy units should be mandatory, not a fan of things just materializing behind units with no way to prevent it other than leaving units on ambush
@williamrthompsonjr5564 жыл бұрын
The rule of thumb for the attacker, is at least 2 to 1 numerical superiority. 3 to 1 is better, and from there it's the more the merrier.

@@sitpaintandplay3881 the trees are Woodland Scenics tree armatures with the clump foliage glued to the branches and soaked with PCA to harden them. The explosions are paper clips straightened out and glued to a base then glue the clump foliage to it and paint it black and grey and brown

It’s a standard 6x4 playing surface. The bird is 8x4 though. We use the extra foot on each end for removable trays to hold armies and such.

A fun game to watch...too bad the Americans didn't get close to the objective. In short I think Andre outplayed Steve; he played a lot of tactical stuff and was able to hold the line best. It would seem BA doesn't really balance out the scenarios for the attacker versus the defender. Having that Schlepper was huge. Take care.
@tabletopcp4 жыл бұрын
redmist1122 no. Bolt Action is not very bff old at straight up attack/defend games. Maybe with some heavy tweaking but it’s better for grab and hold objectives scattered around the board type games.
