My first son and twin sons are 15 months apart, all on the spectrum. Took years to learn to talk, all runners (ie bolt into the street, etc.). After almost watching them die by car a couple times i started using a leash. Funny how people were willing to judge, but not help keep my children alive. We do what we gotta do, so kudos to this mama for keeping her boys alive, too! ❤

Not gonna lie, I was a little judgy when I saw kids on leashes and then one time I took my nephew out in public and then realized, I really need to get a leash for this kid. They are quick and if you look away for a second you can bet they're already 2 aisles away. Edit: I learned my lesson and now I see kids on leashes and I'm like should I ask if the parent(s) would like help watching the kids😊

@@Rowsy91 Aw, as long as they're happy, why not? Besides, Taylor and her brother Austin have a similar family dynamic as adults fighting over Easter eggs and such. They're funny. And their dad played college football. If it works out long term, I think the Kelces and the Swifts will get along just fine.

Hi Donna. I gotta tell you, when my daughter was two , I got a leash because she also ran and ran out into traffic, just went for it. I got the leash and while at an indoor mall, an elderly woman reprimanded me for 3 minutes. I left in tears, but she’s 37, alive today! Lol she’s always been adventuresome, very capable. You did good!

I'm appalled that someone gave you a hard time about using a leash. Kids are fast. Mom is trying to shop or is carrying kids stuff. A harness leash is the only sane & safe solution. Kids get killed or kidnapped running away from their parent(s).

When my son was like 3? Maybe 4?? We were at our local mall at Christmas time so it was busy. There was a playground thing in the middle, and the food court was around it. Husband went to get food, I was watching our kid. I had all our coats and stuff and I was shoving sons coat in a backpack that I had so I didn’t have to carry so much. Again, it’s super busy so I wasn’t taking my eyes off him at all, except for under 2 seconds when I glanced down to see why I couldn’t get the backpack to zip. In that 2 seconds (not an exaggeration, it was seriously a glance down) he was GONE. I was absolutely FRANTIC. Found him with his dad in line at the food court. He was playing, realized he was hungry and that was that… off he went to find dad. Those few minutes I couldn’t find him were terrifying.

I have 3 kids who all started walking at 8 months and I have always said that was terrible. People seemed impressed that they walked so young but at 8 months it's like you have a tiny idiot with fully functional legs. Run into traffic, run straight into a lake, run into a camp fire. No concept of danger. I understand using a leash.

I love this story from Mama Kelce.. I am a mom of twin boys who are 18 months and a 9 month old baby boy. My sons are very active, and my baby is right behind them trying to keep up. I always say I am going to need a leash with my boys when we go out for family outings.. so my question for Mama Kelce is, did it ever get easier with Travis as he got older and how did you handle any aggressive sibling rivalry? because from the looks of it Jason and Travis seem to have a great brotherly bond and I’m excited to see my sons develop their own special bond once they get past all the biting, hitting, hair pulling, toy stealing stage.💙💙💙

I have three my oldest adhd but his anxiety made him safe! He wasn’t a runner, but like Jason I have issues with him just waisting time not getting ready for school on time. I did the whole making him walk for being late and go back and get him later to make a point. My daughter was typical stay close by so I don’t have an issue. My youngest is 3 and like Travis is a runner and shows no fear. He is the one I had to lock in the house with a child lock cause he let himself and the dogs out and playing in the middle of the street when I went to the bathroom. I had a harness for him cause if I said stop he’d run faster away. He’d have no sense of danger what he was running into and I had knee surgery (he was 2) and I couldn’t keep up! Totally relate mamma Kelce

Ditto - as a Chargers fan, I kept thinking, get that #87 out of there. Now, I think he’s kind of funny.

@@kelseyjay3733cus he’s a menace to other teams and players lol. Dudes made jerking off motions to players, mooned fans, started fights. He’s an ass but he’s our ass lol. He’s also calmed down over the years though and he’s always been respectful off the field and at the end of games. He’s just a dick during games lol

My mother had to put me in a harness as well. I've got photos of me wearing that thing while my mother would shop in downtown San Antonio, Texas in the 50's when they had sidewalk photographers. The minute she dropped the leash attached to the harness I was gone. Of course, I paid for it when I got home. Glad to know I have something in common with an NFL player! LOL!

I am glad Travis didn't run off with the carnies.... My little brother was very active, and we had to "leash" him for a bit.
