Jeanty was close because (a) a lot of Deion haters exist among the media space that has several hundred votes (and consists of the vast majority of the votes to be had); and (b) a ton of people, who have ideas in their mind of what a Heisman trophy winner is supposed to look like, did not see a player on a three-loss team that didn't make the playoffs as worthy. A guy whose name will be associated with both the Biletnikoff and the Bednarik trophies for the same season should be an absolute shoo-in for the Heisman. I am glad the right guy was chosen, but the vote really should not have been that close. What we witnessed this season with Hunter was special.

I don't even believe this dude is an analyst. Jeanty is having a nice season. But don't compare this season to Barry Sanders. Had Jeanty broke Barry's record in the regular season. He still would have needed an extra game to do it. The fact that if Jeanty gets the record. It will be in 14 games and still short of stats Barry should be given credit for. 11 Games, that's what Barry gets credit for.
