I absolutely agree with you I think that tree now is an eye sore on the location and it needs to go. I definitely think you guys can plant another one farther away if you choose to do so or just do away with a tree all together. I like the idea of a swing set or some type of play area for the kids.

Great job Travis on the deck. Love the color! My vote is to get rid of the tree. Roots are detrimental to a yard and can affect plumbing down the line. Plus it will be nice to have soft, green grass there growing under your feet. Girls are super adorable ☺️

Yes, I would cut the tree down because it will eventually damage your foundation and brand-new deck. This happened to us when we first bought our house and it cost us a lot of money to get the tree down and repair the damage it caused. Good luck and stay safe!

If you plant some trees along the back fence you'll have more privacy, and they will do the job of the current tree which is in the way and inhibiting green lawn near your steps. The deck was a great idea for your home.

Hey Travis the deck looks good, keep up the good work. I agree with Torie to cut down the tree. The roots could possibly cause plumbing problems as well as structural damage because of the roots. My suggestion is to pay a professional to do it and have them dig out the roots (the roots could continue to thrive). We had a tree in our backyard and the people we hired to cut it down, also removed the roots.

Another idea for the girls...A sandbox! They can be purchased with a cover to keep the sand dry. They will spend hours playing in it. The deck looks great !

👋 TTWB!! It is nice to expand more roomy back porch.. Travis quite a handyman. I do barefoot at my own yard so comforting . Do yourself is best because you can trust your own home . Someone else they might mess up in long run you might need more repair because the man rip off. Remove the tree or sell it i know some people love trees. I like tree but way from the house better. Torrie that's gonna be a big job , we had one bigger than that , we paid to have it removed it was right over our garage , it cost 3500.00 , not including stump grinder, we have to many tornadoes in the summer , didnt want it to fall on the garage, but we did plant another tree at a different property .

I would have installed the deck over the stairs and relocated the stairs off the deck. That way the tree would not be in the walkway.

Honey a deck might have cost you $10,000. Most people don’t have the math skills nor understand stability issues using posts. Composite decking always costs more but no more cleaning & staining every couple years. It does get hot though so watch the littles tiny feet in the summer🔥🔥🔥🔥Take the tree down & put one in away from the house.
